when we hit the gas the Hemi comes in
0:32
propose
0:44
okay we're going to start it up and
0:47
you'll see that the engine doesn't
0:49
really make sound so the usual engine
0:54
start nodes you just don't get shift
0:57
into drive
1:09
you
1:17
you
1:34
now you'll be able to hear the engine
1:36
kick on when it's needed
1:51
the engine is still off and that's
1:56
what's great about hybrid is that the
1:58
engine doesn't run when it doesn't have
1:59
to personally I find that really cool
2:02
thing things that's not often mentioned
2:04
is that the regenerative braking that
2:06
human hybrids appears to have been
2:08
invented by AMC back in the 70s
2:15
and you cuts in very smoothly as we go
2:18
along saver mode you'll be remote in
2:21
this case means that the semi engine is
2:23
running either at the 4-cylinder ours
2:36
that means actually quieter than the
2:39
electricals much of the time
3:12
you
3:19
now highlight what's interesting is that
3:30
you'd expect instant time acceleration
3:32
to be higher because we've got the
3:33
battery pack and a more powerful enemy
3:36
but it actually feels as though we're
3:38
getting much power
3:42
norwegian instant power then we would
3:45
with just the hemming and a conventional
3:46
automatic
3:51
and be very curious TV except the actual
3:54
accelerations that you need to know
3:56
whether it's just the feel of the
3:58
transmission hiding
4:02
some of the
4:04
whether it's just appealed the
4:05
transmission hiding some of the
4:07
perception of acceleration i like the
4:10
hybrid i really love the idea of getting
4:13
back power that i lose during braking
4:15
and having the engine shut off when it's
4:17
not needed this powertrain is pretty
4:19
darn good in fact it's more than good
4:22
enough but the standard hemi an
4:25
automatic
4:31
if you ask me which one I'd rather Drive
4:33
I'd rather give up some of the
4:35
smoothness for the fun Engadget area
4:37
hybrid powertrain because when it comes
4:40
right down to it there's two people who
4:42
really like hybrids in my opinion
4:44
there's people want to save gas and
4:46
there's people who just happen to like
4:47
gadgets and for me I like saving gas and
4:52
I like catch
5:02
you
5:33
see what's special about this cup holder
5:35
save
5:36
ridges in here to hold cups in although
5:38
smaller cups although probably not very
5:40
thoroughly they're not very much
5:44
pressure there this one we've got the
5:48
coin organizer yep and every car comes
5:53
with an extra receipt ESP off to so that
5:58
if you are using extrasensory perception
6:00
to see what your passengers are thinking
6:02
they can stop you see or MERS power
6:07
outlet and a little bitty change and you
6:14
can set all sorts of things using this
6:17
although usually when we try to film it
6:20
it doesn't come out favored and that
6:22
means that the engine is either off or
6:24
on four cylinders and yes we have been
6:27
getting that bad mileage but that's kind
6:29
of normal when we do our little testing
6:31
routine we have gone up as high as
6:34
twenty but in some ways you have to
6:36
actually work at it these are your
6:38
garage door openers fifteen or thirty
6:42
nine degrees Fahrenheit I say
6:54
okay
7:02
I need to go
7:06
didn't get only our home
7:22
okay now see if you can push them back
7:24
down again here have any people who this
7:37
handy-dandy revolt attached to feeling
7:41
the screen down you can still see around
7:44
it unlike some other vehicles yes you
7:48
can close
8:22
here are the big wheels got to have big
8:26
wheels
8:37
you
