So a few days before Computex 2026, Qualcomm, the chip maker, introduced a new line of chips called Snapdragon C
0:06
They're meant for budget laptops, and what we have here is the first budget laptop we've seen based on Snapdragon C, Acer's Aspire Go 15
0:15
So according to Qualcomm, Snapdragon C is intended for laptops that'll cost $300 and up
0:20
Now, right now, Qualcomm has a Snapdragon X and X2 line of processors
0:24
The lowest end of those start around $600, laptops that start around that price
0:29
So this will probably occupy another tier below that, $300 to $600, although we don't know exact pricing yet for this particular model
0:36
So this is a pretty typical 15-inch laptop, and we've seen Aspire Go's before, but not one with this particular chip inside
0:44
So if you'll notice, we've got a 15-inch Full HD screen here, sort of the baseline for a budget or mid-range system
0:51
We're seeing up to 512 gigs of storage and up to 8 gigs of memory. we're hoping that in the SKUs that come to market that they'll be 8 gigs
0:57
because we're not quite sure how Windows 11 is going to react to anything less than that. So looking at the other specs of the machine here, up to a 8.4 Snapdragon C processor
1:07
and some of the other things are pretty standard fare for a mid to budget laptop like a 1080p camera Let take a look at the sides The ports on either side of the machine are pretty standard fare
1:18
On the left side, we've got an HDMI and two USB-Cs. And on the right side, we have USB-A and a headphone jack
1:26
So good basic budget connectivity for a laptop this size. Maybe you could use one more port
1:33
but given that this is probably going to be between 300 to $600 perfectly acceptable
1:37
So one thing to notice about this model, like a lot of budget machines between 300 to $600
1:41
you may or may not get key backlighting. It appears there is no key backlighting on this model here
1:45
It looks like this printed key tops, which is understandable at the likely price point
1:49
this machine will be at. So you'll also notice that this machine is under glass here. I can't touch it
1:53
Why is that? Because this is actually the first Snapdragon scene machine that has been announced at Computex
1:58
and the only one we're aware of so far at the time we're filming this. So we're not able to run benchmarks on it
2:03
do any sort of experiential testing or anything of that sort. We'll have to get to that when this
2:07
gets closer to market. But we will see, based on Qualcomm's projections of $300 and up, what this
2:12
actually hits at. But again, we expect somewhere between $300 and $600, depending on configuration
