How did WWDC 2026 feel this year?

I'm just going to start with the actual feel of the event, because this video presentation seemed really strange

I was taking a look at the chat room, and a lot of the chat people were going like, why is this lasting over an hour? Why isn't this just 15 minutes? What's going on

Is that all that's going on? Because when we started this event, it was about parental safety things

And also they talked about Mac OS Golden Gate. Good name. And then they also decided to show different corner radiuses, which according to Bridget

who was on the scene did get applause from the audience. So Andrew, I'm going to go to you first

What did you feel out of this event? What did you get out of this event when it comes to

if this is going to transition from Cook to Turnus, what was that

So we got very little in terms of actual transition, right? So at the very end, Tim Cook said a little bit of a goodbye

You know talking about his you know mentioning how he enjoyed giving these presentations and things like that It was definitely a moment of send but otherwise they didn really that acknowledge it

That said, this definitely had a different feel from past WWDCs. Like in the past, they've organized it by platform more specifically

Like they would go bucket to bucket and platform to platform and talk about everything

this they were kind of like overarching and winding through so it had a little bit more

of a wanderlust for me uh with a lot of things and yeah they're they're i don't know i don't

think i was actually hoping that they'd run and actually pass a physical baton between each other

but maybe a little bit more of a of a thing other than just like at the very end like i'd see ya

but the vibe overall was more windy. There, windy is the word I'm going with

What did you think, Timothy? Because I was kind of I wouldn say floored by this event I was just confused by the style of presentation And like Andrew was saying this was basically a break from format Instead of just being Mac OS and iOS and this thing it was like here Apple Intelligence

Here's how it's going to kind of work through stuff, but we're not going to tell you exactly how everything works

What did you make of this? Yeah, I think maybe I hyped myself up too much

I mean, this was supposed to, at least I thought, be a big transition moment

You know, stepping into Apple's AI future. It's the last Tim Cook WWDC

So I think the vibe is I was left wanting a little bit more

I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way. I don't know if there should have been a little bit more pomp and circumstance about Tim Cook

You know, eventually, pretty soon, you know, passing the torch. Or if somehow the Siri announcement could have been made to pop a little bit more with a live demo or something

But yeah, the overall vibe I had was just wanting a little bit more

There were some cool updates in there, some cool things I'm excited to try

But yeah, I don't know, I'm just left with that feeling of, is that it

Yeah, I think that's the feel. The chat room was also very much involved with this wondering why wasn this just 15 minutes why wasn this an email Why was this a commercial for an hour and a half that didn go anywhere Also

Turnus wasn't even at the, at least in the videos. So it just seemed like Apple is, I don't know if

they're setting a reset moment right now of, look, we're not going with OS to OS to OS because we're

going to tell you that Siri and Apple intelligence is really the future of our company. What's

important is how these devices talk to each other. And they did show some continuity between

hardware things, but there was no hints of hardware whatsoever at this event, it seemed like

And it just had this almost hollow feel. I just can't quite describe how unusual this one was

because it didn't even seem to hype up the developers too much. It was just saying

Apple can do this now, and Apple can do that now. And a lot of this had us scratching our heads of

isn't this just Gemini? Didn't we see Gemini do this? So yes, a lot of this stuff that the new

Siri can do is basically Gemini, which is great if you use it, but it still seems like it's not

it wasn't shown in a way that it was polished or finished
