Mary Did You Know?

and uh my actually my message for

Mother's Day today is Mary did you

know and

uh and the reason I I wanted to talk to

you

about Mary did you know I want you to

realize

something the angel Gabriel in Luke 1

26 it says "And in the sixth month the

angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a

city of Galilee named Nazareth to a

virgin his spouse to a man whose name

was Joseph of the house of David and the

virgin's name was Mary." And the angel

came in unto her and said "Hell thou art

highly

favored the Lord is with thee blessed

art thou among women." And when she saw

him she was troubled that is saying and

cast in her mind what manner of

salutation this should

be and the angel said unto her "Fear not

Mary for thou hast found favor with

God." And behold thou shalt conceive in

thy womb and bring forth a son and shall

call his name

Jesus he shall be great and he shall be

called the Son of the Highest and the

Lord God shall give unto him the throne

of his father David and he shall reign

over the house of Jacob forever and of

his kingdom there shall be no end then

said Mary unto the angel How shall this

be seeing I know not a man and the angel

answered and said unto her The Holy

Ghost shall come upon thee and the power

of the highest shall overshadow thee

therefore also that holy thing which

shall be born of thee shall be called

the Son of God

and behold thy cousin Elizabeth she hath

also conceived a son in her old age and

this is the sixth month with her who was

called Baron for with God nothing shall

be

impossible and Mary said Behold the

handmade of the

Lord be it unto me according to thy word

and the angel departed from her i I want

to say this to

you mary did know mary knew from the

beginning mary

knew that Jesus was going to die on the

cross from the

start

yet knowing what was going to

happen she loved him and she raised him

and she supported

him and if you don't think she

did she says "You know I I think about

my mom sometimes why don't you think

about this?" How many of you know about

Jesus's first miracle he turned water

into wine it was a miracle he did not

want to

do it was something that he did not

plant and I want you to listen to what

Mary

said this is the same

Mary this is in John chapter

2 and he's in Canaa of Galilee he

started calling his disciples listen to

what what Mary does and listen to

Jesus's response to

her and the third day there was a

marriage in Canaa of

Galilee and the mother of Jesus was

there and both Jesus was called and his

disciples to the marriage now who do you

think called them to the marriage

mary and when they wanted wine the

mother of Jesus saith unto him "They

have no

wine." Now look at Jesus's response and

Jesus Jesus saith unto her "Woman what

have I to do with thee mine hour is not

yet come." He doesn't want to do this

miracle he's not ready to present

himself but listen to what m what Mary

says not to Jesus but to the people in

the house and his mother saith unto the

servants whatsoever he

saith unto you you do

it." And there were set there six water

pots of stone after the manner of the

purifying of the Jews and if you don't

understand what that means is six water

pots of stone was enough to take six

baths that's a lot of wine

containing two or three firings a

piece and a firkin's roughly 10 gallons

so they these stone jars held 20 to 30

gallons and Jesus said unto them now

remember he just told Mary "It's not my

time yet." And Mary doesn't respond to

him she does what my mom did to me when

I wanted I I didn't want to do something

and my mom pushed me into doing it

anyway she turns to the servants and

says "Do whatever he tells you to do."

And Jesus says "Fill the water pots with

water." And they filled them to the

brim and he said unto them "Draw out now

and bear unto the governor of the

feast." And they bare it and when the

ruler of the feast had tasted the water

that was made wine and knew not whence

it was but the servants which drew the

water

knew the governor of the feast called

the bridegroom and saith unto him Every

man at the beginning does set forth good

wine and when men have well drunk than

that which is worse but thou hast kept

the wine good until

now jesus' first miracle is a miracle he

didn't want to do but Mary knew who he

was she had known who he was for 30

years because Gabriel told her "You're

going to have the son of

God he's going to bring healing he's

going to bring miracles he's going to

bring salvation he's going to set the

world free and God is going to use you

to get him here." But she hid all these

things in her

heart all the way back to the

beginning and I want you to think about

this

when Jesus enters his public

ministry Mary

knows how his public ministry as a man

is going to

end

yet she pushed him into the

limelight with that first

miracle knowing three and a half years

later he's going to die and I want to I

want you guys to flip over there with me

because I I want to share this with you

i think it's something a lot of people

never think

about go to the next slide Chris john

19:17-27

and the bearing of his cross went forth

unto the place called the pal uh the

place of a skull which is called in the

Hebrew tongue

goltha where they crucified him and two

other with him one on either side and

Jesus in the midst and p and pilate

wrote a title and put on the cross and

the writing was Jesus of Nazareth the

king of the Jews now who did Gabriel

tell Mary she was going to bear

she was going to bear the king of the

Jews she was going to bear the rightful

king and this title when read many of

the Jews for the place where Jesus was

crucified was nigh to the city and it

was written it wasn't just written in

Latin which was the language of of the

Romans it was also written in Greek

which everybody in that area spoke and

he had it written in Hebrew also it was

a message to the whole world

to every

nation and then said the chief priests

of the Jews to Pilate "Write not the

king of the Jews." But daddy said "I am

the king of the Jews." And Pilate

answers "What I have written I have

written." He's confirming what Gabriel

told Mary 33 and a half years before

that day that Jesus would be born king

of the Jews

then the soldiers when they had

crucified Jesus took his garments and

made four parts to every soldier apart

and also his coat now the coat was

without seam woven from the top

throughout and they said therefore among

themselves let us not rend it but cast

lots for it whose it is shall be that

the scripture might be fulfilled which

saith they parted my raignment among

them and for my vesture they did cast

lots these things therefore the soldiers

did now I want you to pay real close

attention because Mary

knows now there stood by the cross of

Jesus his

mother and his mother's sister Mary the

wife of Cleophus and Mary

Magdalene and when Jesus therefore saw

his mother and the disciples standing by

whom he loved which was John which if

you don't know the whole genealogy John

and Jesus were first cousins john's

mother was Mary's

sister and John John James and John the

sons of Zebedee their mother was Mary's

sister their first cousins and there's

something here you should understand in

Jewish customs the oldest son if the

father's dead is required by law to

provide care for his

mother and Jesus is hanging on the cross

and she's his firstborn or he's her

firstborn he's got four

brothers but look what he did look who

he passed the

responsibility for taking care of his

mother

to he passed it to John

he didn't pass it to his brother James

he didn't pass it to his brother Jude he

passed it to his cousin

John you know who else did that in the

Bible you ever read the book of

Ruth boaz redeemed

Ruth in the same

way Jesus tells John or he tells his

mother,"Woman behold thy son." In other

words he's saying "I'm going on to do

other things he's going to take care of

you." Now he wouldn't have said that to

his mother if his father was still

alive and then he looks at

John and he says "Behold thy

mother." And from that hour that

disciple took her unto his own home now

I want you to think about

Mary those of you that are

mothers is there anything you wouldn't

do for your

kids you changed their diapers when they

were babies you fed them when they were

babies when they fell and skinned their

knees you kissed their boo

boos okay when they grew up and became

teenagers and got rebellious you slapped

some sense back into them okay you told

them they were acting

stupid when they got married and started

having your grandchildren you told them

how much you loved

them but could you

honestly stand there and watch one of

them

die yet

Mary who knew Jesus's future from the

start who pushed him into public

ministry knowing he had to

die did it

anyway because she loved God and I'm

going to tell you something else she did

not go to the tomb do you know why

because not only did she watch him die

but she also knew he was going to raise

back again in three

days she she wasn't afraid she went

there to support him she's telling him

"Son I know why you're on that cross i

know what's going

on and it grieves my heart and breaks my

heart but I know in 3 days that'll

change because she knew the whole

thing."

Several times during Jesus's public

ministry she would show

up to see

him one time he got agitated at her

because she brought all his brothers and

sisters and I honestly believe she was

trying to get her brothers and sisters

his brothers and sisters saved and she

brought them all in his and Jesus

response was "Woman what have I to do

with you these are my brothers and

sisters."

Yet on the day he was crucified she's at

the foot of the

cross but when he rose from the dead she

wasn't at the tomb because she knew he

had risen and she had known his life

story from the beginning because Gabriel

told

her can you

imagine how much

strength of

character it

took to do that can you

imagine the unconditional love that Mary

had for

Jesus to

know he was going to

die and there wasn't anything she could

do to stop it

nothing and rather than spend her life

bemoning his what was going to happen

she supported him she encouraged him how

many of you ever encourage your

children every day she encouraged him

and then when it came time and she knew

it was time she pushed him into the

public

spotlight and when it came time for him

to pay for our

salvation to pave the way for us to have

direct access to God the Father she was

right there at the cross

and I know the Bible doesn't say it but

I can see in her spirit she was probably

saying

"Yes salvation is

coming." And she grieved losing her son

but she knew the grief wasn't going to

last because in 3 days he was coming out

of that grave she was actually

rejoicing you know when we say rejoice

in the Lord always and again I say

rejoice why are you rejoicing if you

don't if you can't

understand what Jesus did at the

cross he fulfilled everything we needed

in every way when we rejoice in the Lord

now it's because we have an eternal home

we are not condemned to spend eternity

in this lake of fire that wasn't even

created for us it was created for Satan

and his angels and Jesus on the

cross paid the price so we wouldn't have

to go

there and Mary

knew and that's the kind of love that

God demonstrated but also had given to

him his whole life because Mary knew

exactly what was going to happen to him

from the time a Gabriel spoke to

her the savior of the world tells you

through the books of Isa through the

book of Isaiah all the things that he

was going to

endure and the other Old Testament

prophets that spoke about Jesus on the

cross and she knew these from her

childhood she knew them she was taught

them and when Gabriel appeared bless you

when Gabriel appeared and told her what

was about to happen she

knew what his future was from the

beginning and I want you guys to

understand that it's the greatest

message you can share with

anybody when you tell

somebody what Jesus

did for

you and it's personal and it's real and

it's emotional and it's factual people

will listen to what you have to

say because the

truth sets us free

when I heard the message of

Jesus and I cried out to

him my life

changed everything

changed i couldn't believe how it

changed i couldn't believe how I felt

after it

changed and it come down to

this i believed him more than I believed

what I could see with my eyes and it

changed my life and when you tell

somebody where Jesus has brought you

from to where you are

now you have something to

share you have something to

give within you is that living water

within you it says that the spirit of

God this is a temple of the Holy Ghost

the spirit of God is in you and when you

share that message with someone when you

tell them what God did for

you and how he changed your life and all

the things he's done during your life

hey you know what when I fell off that

cliff up there and I broke my back and

broke my leg and I crushed my foot and

they wanted to cut my leg off right here

and you guys would have called me stumpy

for the rest of my life i believed God

more than the situation and my leg

healed that's my leg down there i don't

have an artificial

leg i went to the eye

doctor last week

well not last week the week before i had

this issue with pressure in my eyes they

go in there and test the pressure in my

eyes and it was like 28 in one eye and

32 in the other eye right they gave me

these drops I'm supposed to put in there

morning to night and I set the drops

down next to my chair and I said

"God you can fix this pressure issue

with my

eyes and I'm going to trust you to do

it." When I went into the doctor to get

my eye pressure tested

and Sister Leon and

Chris and brother

Tim sometimes I forget your name sorry

leanne all working not in an eye

doctor's office right when they tested

the pressure in my eyes and they put the

drops in they tested me with the

machine eye pressure in this eye was

18 eye pressure in this eye was 22 and I

haven't used a single drop in my eyes

since the day I prayed

the same

God that changed water into wine that

healed the sick that raised the dead is

alive in

you you don't need someone to come and

lay hands on you if you believe what

God's word

says now when you're under an attack and

the Bible says "If there any sick among

you let them call for the elders of the

church let them be anointed with oil."

and the prayer face shall save the sick

you lay hands on them they shall recover

all of those things are absolutely 100%

true and we need to do them as often as

needed

but if you're struggling at home if the

if the enemy keeps attacking you with

stuff you have the

authority given to you by

Jesus to trust him to change

it i still haven't used those

drops and my eye pressure is back to

normal

so I want to say to you today Mary knew

mary knew exactly what was going to

happen to Jesus mary knew exactly why

Jesus came mary knew exactly what Jesus

was going to do and at the end of the

day guess

what she was able to

receive

that okay

so I want you guys to

understand that a mother's love has no

end has no

boundaries none

and the same

love that Jesus showed

us on the

cross we need to be able to show other

people why don't you guys all stand if

you're able to
