Eminem has defended his collaboration with Kid Rock on the rocker’s new faith-based album, saying that their longstanding friendship outweighs their political differences. Rock recently released ‘Halfway 2 Jesus,’ with Eminem featured on the song ‘Heal My Faith.’ It drew criticism from some Eminem fans, who questioned his decision to work with the Trump supporter. Kid Rock is a prominent supporter of US President Donald Trump, while Eminem endorsed Kamala Harris at a Detroit rally in 2024. Hours after the album’s release, Eminem addressed the criticism on social media, writing, “Not about choosing sides, just choosing to make music with my old friend. Praying for all of us.” Speaking to Billboard, Rock said he and Eminem have been friends for decades. “We’ve been friends for, like, 40 years,” he explained. Rock added that while they occasionally discuss politics, they share common ground and can laugh about their disagreements. Eminem echoed the sentiment in his verse on ‘Heal My Faith.’ “From shock rap to the rock rap / My homie and me / He is my brother, not my political enemy,” Eminem raps on the track.
