Paul the apostle when confronted by God on the road to Damascus did not think that the gospel was a cute personal invitation from Christ. Neither did Paul think preaching the wrath of God was old-fashioned after his conversion. This morning we are going to be looking at portions of Romans 1 to understand why it’s imperative that we begin the gospel with the wrath of God. for in it the righteousness of god is revealed from faith and for faith as it is written the

repentance repent for his sins and believe the only way to be saved was to receive

the forgiveness of jesus christ and receive the holy spirit to be sustained see this is why paul is not ashamed of

the gospel because that's all we have paul also said that in this good news

god is demonstrating that he is just and righteous he will certainly punish sins and now we

need to understand why the wrath of god is see in the gospel god also demonstrate

that he is righteous because for the longest time

and now we need to understand why the wrath of god is and exist we need to understand that the

who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth what truth do they suppress we need to

and they also are immoral in their behavior they do things that violate the law of

god the moral law of god these people because of their immorality they suppress the truth

friend of mine who denies that god exists so i went through a lot of argument with him

and he he he agrees in the sense that he tries to resist him but he he began he began to understand

what this meant and ultimately we got to the point where he said to me i want you to do what i

want to do and i finally understood why he rejected god and the existence of god

because he wants to be his own master he wants to live a life of sin he wants

to be immoral so in his immorality he represses suppresses and stifles the truth and

they suppress the truth because of their own immoral behavior they begin to deny that there is a god

because they know that if they acknowledge that there is a god and there is a true god

they suffrage the truth they repress the truth they press it down they try to find every way to deny that there is a god

paul's time didn't have all the advancement in technology and science now in our day and age all sciences

technology they have given us even more evidence of the undeniable proof of the existence of god

you know you have a lot of people now want to be so they want to they just want comfort in life that's all they want to to the point

where they idolize comfort they want pleasure and they turn their whole life into pleasure seeking

pleasure some people want to be so intellectual that they they will deny everything just to hold on to this

intellectualism some people are all about emotion okay they idolize emotion they are always seeking for this high emotional

high some people are their own god this is humanism okay they say well i'm my own god and i want

to do my own thing so you the focus on the individual and relativism is rampant now

where you believe what you want to believe i believe my truth so therefore you have your truth and i have my truth and therefore now it's funny because

at that point if there's no objectivity and there's no objective truth so you end up with just what

chaos but people don't want to acknowledge that again they begin to reject god and they now fall into this idolatry this is idolatry
