Indian Il-114-300 Deal With Russia: Six Aircraft Today, Industry Tomorrow

Jan 29, 2026
At Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad, Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of the Rostec State Corporation, and Indian company Flamingo Aerospace signed a preliminary agreement for the delivery of six Il-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft. While the aircraft order itself is modest, the implications of this partnership are far more significant. India is now the world’s third-largest aviation market and the fastest-growing, with regional connectivity becoming a national priority. The Il-114-300, designed for short runways, hot-and-high conditions, and limited infrastructure, fits directly into this requirement. With seating for around 68 passengers and modern TV7-117ST-01 engines, the aircraft is positioned as a practical solution for underserved routes. But this deal goes well beyond aircraft deliveries. UAC will provide Flamingo Aerospace with a roadmap for developing aviation competencies in India, including assembly, modification, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). This aligns closely with India’s push for self-reliance and long-term industrial capability rather than simple imports. In this video, we break down why this agreement matters, what the Il-114-300 brings to the table, how it compares to other regional aircraft, and what it signals for the future of Russia–India aviation cooperation. Is this the beginning of a new regional aviation ecosystem in India? Let’s take a closer look. #Il114300 #IndianAviation #RussianAviation #RegionalAviation #WingsIndia2026 #Rostec #UnitedAircraftCorporation #FlamingoAerospace #AviationNews #CivilAviation #MakeInIndia #GlobalAviation #AltitudeAddicts Be a Member for exclusive privileges - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCviEFTf1xIPKsjmyF_zvFug/join Twitter : https://x.com/AltitudeAddicts Website: https://www.altitudeaddicts.com
