Hi, welcome to day four of the 30 mixed
0:05
media card challenge. It's using all
0:07
those craft supplies you've got at home.
0:09
It's just different ways of using them.
0:11
And today's card is this one here. If
0:14
you want to find the other videos,
0:16
you'll find on screen in the description
0:17
below or on my channel. But today, we're
0:20
going to work on this one.
0:22
So, for this card, just find yourself
0:24
some nice paper that you really like and
0:26
then you can rip it up, cut it up, but
0:28
we're going to use it to decorate the
0:29
card. But before we do that, we're going
0:32
to add some effects to the card. Now,
0:35
one way you can do this is using ink
0:38
pads and a little brush. Now, what
0:41
you'll see here is these ink pads are
0:42
not great. Um, but I wanted to try them
0:45
out because I quite like the different
0:46
colors. So, I'm giving that a go, but
0:50
I'm not very impressed. So, what I'm
0:53
going to do is go to my watercolor
0:55
paints. Now, they're just ordinary
0:58
watercolors like your children might
1:00
have or you might use at home. Um,
1:02
nothing special, nothing expensive.
1:05
Choose the color you want and then just
1:08
dab it on the page. So, you can see the
1:10
card. I'm just dabbing it all over
1:12
because I want this color all over. Now,
1:15
obviously, what you could be doing here
1:17
is putting one color in one place,
1:19
merging colors together, whatever you
1:22
fancy. So, I'm going to put that ready
1:24
orange color all over because I think it
1:26
goes with the poppies nicely on the
1:28
paper. So, what you're trying to decide
1:30
is what sort of color background you
1:32
want with your paper. And you can also
1:35
be thinking about how much of it you
1:39
Do you want your color very soft? What
1:42
I'd call wishy-washy, in which case have
1:44
plenty of water. If you make it quite
1:46
dry, you're going to get this stronger
1:49
color like I'm adding now. So, do play
1:52
around with watercolors because you can
1:54
get all sorts of effects and I am no
1:58
Let it dry and then once you're happy
2:01
with it, and again you could have added
2:02
several colors, prepare your paper. Now,
2:05
I fancy just ripping mine,
2:09
as you can see, in sort of the shape of
2:11
the poppies and then placing them so
2:18
So, you might have put your paper in
2:20
lots of pieces. You might just be
2:22
sticking one piece on. It's entirely up
2:25
to you. So, I'm going to stick them on
2:28
just with the basic glue stick. Nothing
2:33
The whole theme of these cards, this
2:36
whole series, is being able to do it
2:38
with your basic crafting supplies and
2:40
not needing to go out and buy a thousand
2:42
new things. So, if you're enjoying it,
2:45
please give me a thumbs up and then
2:47
it'll spread to more people. And as you
2:49
can see, I'm just lining that one up
2:54
And I've made the decision to put the
3:01
And it is just a case of gluing them and
3:03
smoothing them down. Obviously, you
3:06
could use any glue. I just think most
3:09
people have a glue stick kicking about,
3:11
especially if you've got children in
3:12
school. Or is that only in the UK they
3:15
require them to have a glue stick and
3:16
stick things in their books? Perhaps
3:22
So, get that one in place. So, you can
3:26
see they've overlapped and I'm quite
3:31
And then I'm going to add some more
3:34
detail. I think it needs a little bit
3:37
more just just to bring the background
3:41
together with the foreground.
3:44
So let's go back to the watercolors.
3:47
Let's get rid of the bulk of the water
3:51
So now I'm going to go back to the same
3:53
color I did before and I'm just going to
3:56
add a bit of detailing on the top. For
3:58
me, I think that's just going to bring
3:59
the foreground and the background
4:01
together. And obviously, you could use
4:03
lots of different techniques and
4:04
sweeping and maybe a sponge, but I'm
4:07
just doing a few dots. And for me,
4:09
that's the card finished. I may add a
4:11
greeting later um because I don't know
4:13
who's going to get this card at the
4:15
moment. But that's the beauty. I can
4:16
just keep that all ready and add a
4:19
greeting later. Good luck with your
