This Christmas, create some gorgeous
0:02
tags using any old tags and your scraps
0:04
of fabric. I'm going to show you how.
0:05
They are super quick and easy. So,
0:08
you're just going to need some gift
0:08
tags. You can have any old tags you've
0:10
got or you can get some free printable
0:12
ones on my website, Christine's Crafts.
0:15
And then we're going to get started. So,
0:18
all you need is your gift tag and some
0:20
fabric. So, I'm just going to start by
0:22
cutting a rectangle of fabric just so
0:25
that it fits on the square bit of my
0:27
tag. I don't want to cover the hole
0:29
because obviously I'm going to attach a
0:31
string to that later. Now, once I've got
0:34
my rectangle, I do rather like to fray
0:36
the edges. You don't have to, but if you
0:38
want to, you just get a needle or a pin
0:40
and push it into the fabric near the
0:43
edge. You only want to take one or two
0:45
threads off at a time, otherwise you're
0:46
getting a bit of a tangle. And you can
0:48
do that all the way around just to make
0:50
a really nice effect. Again, this is
0:52
optional, but h I do like it. And you
0:55
can go as far as you like. You could
0:57
have some really long fondy edges if you
0:59
wanted to. I'm just doing a little bit,
1:01
but that's personal choice. And then
1:03
something to put over the top. I'm going
1:05
to use these pretty Christmas lights
1:06
from an old kit. But to be honest, you
1:10
could do triangles as Christmas trees.
1:13
You could just do squares, rectangles.
1:14
You'll see on my tags that I showed you
1:16
that there are loads of different ideas.
1:19
And then you can either glue it in place
1:22
or sew it in place. And all you need if
1:25
you want that sewing effect is a little
1:27
running stitch around the edge. Really
1:29
quick, really simple. I'm using
1:31
embroidery thread, but you could use any
1:33
thread you've got. Obviously, golds and
1:35
silvers would look amazing, but really
1:37
hard to work with. So, any thread you've
1:40
got, then just finish it off and then
1:42
stick it on. You could use glue, but to
1:45
be honest, I found the easiest is a
1:47
little bit of double-sided tape. And
1:49
then it's on and it'll stay. And then
1:52
all that will be left to do is to add a
1:54
string. You could use ribbon, twine. I'm
1:57
using embroidery thread. It really
1:59
doesn't matter. Depends what effect you
2:01
would like. So, here you go. Lots of
2:03
different ones, lots of different ideas.
