Welcome to our daily encounter with the Word of God! Today we reflect on the readings from the Book of Exodus (Exodus 12:37–42) and the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 12:14–21). These passages reveal God's faithfulness in times of oppression and Christ's gentle mission to bring justice with mercy. First Reading (Exodus 12:37–42): The people of Israel depart from Egypt after 430 years of slavery. This night becomes a sacred vigil — a powerful moment of deliverance. God fulfills His promise and leads His people into freedom. This reading reminds us that even in long periods of suffering, God hears the cry of His people. Deliverance comes not on our timeline, but in God's perfect time — full of power and faithfulness. Gospel (Matthew 12:14–21): Despite being persecuted by the Pharisees, Jesus continues His mission quietly, healing many. The evangelist presents Him as the Servant foretold by Isaiah: chosen, beloved by God, filled with the Spirit, bringing justice without shouting — with gentleness and hope. Jesus does not come with force, but with compassion. He does not break the bruised reed or snuff out the smoldering wick. His justice is healing, not condemning. We are called to follow His example of gentleness and patience, especially in trials. Reflection and Call to Hope Today we are invited to trust in God's timing and walk in the footsteps of Christ — with humility and mercy. May our actions reflect the Servant who loves, heals, and serves in silence. Share in the comments how today’s Word has touched your heart and where you have seen God during your most difficult nights. 📖 Daily Readings: First Reading: Exodus 12:37–42 Gospel: Matthew 12:14–21
