Maybe you've been feeling an intense amount of guilt about your breakup

Maybe, for various reasons, you just feel awful about ending the relationship and you can't get beyond those feelings

And yet you know, logically, it was the right thing to do

And now you want to make peace with those guilty feelings. Work through those emotions so that you can be free and at ease

Let's begin this session by finding your way into a comfortable position

Take a deep breath in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth

Take another deep breath in and feel your lungs expand. Breathe out and release all of that stale air from your body

Breathe in, body expands. Long, slow breath out, body softens

Allow your eyes to gently close now. Your breath can find its way back into its natural flow and rhythm

Settling in here. Have a sense your eyelids become heavy and relaxed

Release your jaw. Feel your teeth part. Relax your tongue away from the roof of your mouth

Then release your shoulders. Allowing your arms and your hands to become heavy and relaxed

Feel that the weight of your body can sink a little deeper into the support beneath you

Legs becoming heavier and heavier, more relaxed

Breathe deeply into the body and allow that sense of relaxation to grow and expand

Relaxing more and more with every breath. As you do, your unconscious mind becomes more aware and more focused

As it does, it becomes open to new insights, new ideas and suggestions for changing now

I want you to gently contemplate these questions to help you to move these feelings of guilt through your body and your mind

so that you can release them. Take a moment to consider, did you apologize for your actions

Has the other person forgiven you, but you haven't forgiven yourself

Is this guilt rational? Or are you holding on to something you shouldn't be

Is this guilt yours? Or has it been pressed upon you by someone else

Remaining in stillness, allow these answers to arise into your consciousness as you define the guilt

Now I want you to consider this question. What is the lesson you can learn from this

Because it had a purpose. But now it's over and it's time to let the guilt go

Because it's okay to preserve the lesson, the wisdom that you gained

and release the negative emotions because the guilt doesn't support you. So it's time to let it go

And in thinking about letting the guilt go, I want you to activate your creative imagination for a moment

and consider if guilt was a colour, what colour would it be

And where in my body am I storing it? Choose one colour to represent your guilt

There's no need to overthink it. Just work with whatever comes to mind

And notice this colour in the part or parts of your body

where you are storing your guilt. Wherever this colour of guilt is located for you

simply become aware of your chosen colour growing there. The stronger and brighter it grows, the more you can become aware of it

Do you have this colour in your mind and your thoughts? When you feel that this guilt is tangible

know that now is the time to let it all go. Take a big inhale

Really expand and fill your body. Hold it for a second, full of colour

And then as you exhale, imagine that this chosen colour is leaving your body and being blown out into a cloud in front of you

See this colour gathering in front of you, growing big and expanding into its full shape

You can do this for a few rounds of breath. Feel that you are gathering up all the guilt on the inhale

And then exhale and release it all into that cloud in front of you

Breathing in and breathing out Really get this guilt out of your body and your mind

Once you feel that you have exhaled all the parts of this colour

I want you to notice the cloud that you have created in front of you

The old guilt is now outside of your physical body

Make the decision now to let this go permanently. You do not need to hold this guilt within you

for it only creates tension and unease in your body and your mind

You deserve to be free. I want you to instruct the guilt to leave

And on your next exhale, imagine blowing this cloud far, far away

until it completely disappears now. It's gone. Vanished. Expired. Evaporated. Extinct

Tune back into your body now and notice how it's feeling
