iPhone 16E Hands On with Demo Units (iPhone SE 2025)

If you've ever wondered what the inside of a dummy unit looks like, here we go

Special delivery, and I think you guys are going to be interested because

apparently inside this package is Apple's next iPhone, which should be coming out

I don't know when you're watching this, but soon. I think the release is imminent. Tim Cook's been tweeting about it

We make cases, as you know, later case, we make these really thin cases

So oftentimes in advance of the release of a product, we're trying to distinguish exactly how these should be constructed

And so sometimes we have these dummy models that show up, which give us insight into the next generation of device and obviously aid in our ability to craft our cases

So I have a few things here to look at. Obviously, the package itself with this demo model of the iPhone

Will it be called the SE? will it be called the 16e is another rumor either way it's a budget iphone with the same chip as the

iphone 16 and people are speculating under 500 if that's the case i feel like they're going to sell

a few of these things i feel like people are going to be interested but if you already looked at the case then you also recognize there are some compromises which we're going to check out in a

moment so i actually have an iphone se here that damn this feels so nostalgic right now that's like

like the display on this thing whoa lcd display touch id none of these things are going to exist

in this new generation of budget iphone it's actually going to look a lot more well let's

look at what the mock-up looks like but it's going to look a lot more like an iphone 14 you've got a

notch even though you may have a single camera setup you've got a much better camera thinner

or Bazel's, a different design language. Let's just open the box. Why don't we just, hey Lou, open the box already

Listen, that's just the type of economy we're in right now, isn't it

People want to get a budget iPhone don they They want to spend the rumor is like for a new iPhone and maybe you don need all this fancy cameras and camera control

and maybe you don't need a dynamic island Ooh, this feels heavy

How many did they put in here? A lot That's a chunk of demos

Oh wow We have different colors too so boxy design

and single camera unit yeah this looks like a modern version of an iphone se i personally think

they should go with 16e or something like that to insinuate to people that yeah it's a budget model

but it's gonna run like a 16 does because it has the same chip as a 16 like i think that's a nice

indicator for people se doesn't really mean it like i think that's a little tougher to interpret

I don't think anyone's out there bragging about having an SE, but maybe they don't want to cannibalize the actual 16 sales

I mean, you can see where the notch will live. Everything else I look around, we still have the switch

the hold switch, which is interesting. Volume buttons, presumably a switch to type C and away from lightning

And then some other color options. White is there. White and silver

This one is buzzing. This one has a haptic motor in it. Whoa

It shows a battery logo. I've never had a demo model ever do that before

What do you mean charge? I don't even think it has a real port. I don't think it's an actual port

No, it's not. No clue. Can you see that? It's dim, but it has a strong haptic feedback and a battery icon

No, that's not, there's nothing there. I don know guys it like did they put a temporary like one time use battery in there That really weird Oh this one doing the same is there a weight to it look but this haptic isn isn as good next level dummy models play off like as if they

dead anyway the rumors did suggest that it would only be available in black and white considering

it's a budget model i think the tough part here is determining like how to market a product like

this without completely wrecking your iphone 16 sales because i think a lot of people would

actually go for something like this. So maybe they do end up continuing to call it SE so they can

still sell 16s to most people and obviously get those higher profit margins associated

It is definitely a new generation of SE or whatever they choose to call it. Much bigger

camera module, actually a lot thicker device too compared to the last generation of SE and just

kind of bigger in every direction, including obviously the display, which now is gonna span far closer to the edges

and not have this giant forehead and chin. No more touch ID either on that new generation

And then let's see how our later case fits. Oh my goodness

Fits on there perfectly. You can see your camera module there. It does make for a nice, single-handed

comfortable phone to hold. Oh, the camera just came off in the case

The whole back is coming off. We're going to inspect this dummy to figure out exactly what's going on here

And now I've never seen one like this before that actually has..

See, the weight in the center is to give it a weight similar to if you had an actual battery

but it's just these watch batteries that are powering that haptic feedback that I'm getting

You can hear that? It... Hear that? Tiny little haptic motor. I don't know why you would need that in a dummy model

You just trying to look at the dimensions of the thing but it is interesting nonetheless That the type of demand that exists for these dummy models at this point So here we have a comparison to an iPhone 14

and they are identical. The form factor is identical. So if you're familiar with an iPhone 14

obviously we have a single camera unit instead of a double camera unit

But otherwise, does the layout completely match up? It does. Power button, you can see your antenna bands

The aluminum external material, SIM tray is in the same spot. Your switch is still there

Volume buttons, ports. Although, like I said, upgrade to USB Type-C on the 16E

or iPhone SE 2025, whatever they end up calling it. I honestly think they could sell a lot of these things

An upgraded bezel when compared to the previous generation SE, which is outdated

And if they hit that price point, $479, as suggested, I know it's not going to be the coolest phone in the world, but there's a lot of people hanging on to their old devices reluctant to upgrade because of the crazy cost associated $800,000, $900,000 smartphones

If it truly comes in $479,000 with an A18 chip, it can basically run like an iPhone 16 and an upgraded single camera unit

I think a lot of people are going to go for that. You let me know in the comments if that's appealing to you

if they are able to launch it at that sub $500 price point
