Tire production date code is actually very easy to find. These are the four digits that you will usually see in a circle or something near the numbers indicating the size of the tire. Why is it confusing? Because the four digits is a code and not a lot of car owners know how to decode it. The biggest catch is that the first two digits stand for the week when this tire was made while the last two digits stand for the production year. While the code may be pretty misleading like “5018”, for example, we may skip it thinking that it has nothing to do with the actual production date. But it’s pretty easy to decode: such a tire was made in the 50th week of the year 2018.
