Odometer rollback is a huge problem for a used car buyer. When you don’t know the actual mileage of a car, you don’t know when to maintain it, when to change the timing belt or chain, when to expect major problems to show up. NHTSA says that about 450,000 cars are sold yearly in the US with fakes odometer readings. And it’s huge! So, the problem is very urgent. You probably know that I live in Ukraine and here we have no rules and no legal actions against odometer rollbacks. As a result, every second used vehicle sold has a fake odometer.
