what's up y'all i'm here for
0:04
corporate battlefield lesson number two
0:08
i had to wrestle between whether i was
0:10
going to do
0:12
the one where i worked at
0:14
yara's papino
0:16
or
0:17
uh
0:19
eggo land
0:22
so
0:23
after much thinking i decided instead of
0:25
doing my second video on eggoland
0:29
instead i'm going to do it about
0:32
yera's casino when i worked there as
0:35
valet
0:36
i think it's uh
0:38
an equally important story but um
0:41
including on my part so i
0:44
want to try to
0:48
tell the story without
0:50
you know opening up scenarios
0:53
so anyway
0:55
when i worked at euros casino i was one
0:57
of the top workers
0:59
i started in a different section as a
1:01
greeter
1:03
where we were greeting literally
1:05
thousands of people every day
1:07
and
1:08
i got promoted to
1:10
a valet person
1:13
so while i was in valet
1:16
um tips were good pay was the same
1:19
baseline pay but tips were good
1:21
and they had enough leeway in there for
1:23
us to be able to
1:24
uh you know
1:26
go through the motions without getting
1:29
in trouble because most of because the
1:31
insurance was really good and everybody
1:33
was rich so that was in the valet
1:36
section
1:38
so
1:39
the key though was that we had to spend
1:41
time running
1:42
up and down stairs and retrieving
1:44
vehicles and parking vehicles
1:47
and there was a set order to things
1:50
of course there was
1:52
another employee there that was about
1:55
the same height as me
1:56
and they decided that they wanted to
1:58
start splitting things into teams
2:01
and what ended up happening was the two
2:04
people that were there to work which was
2:05
me and another person who happened to be
2:08
immunocompromised
2:10
who didn't want to participate in teams
2:12
we just wanted to work got put on a team
2:14
and then the competitive people got put
2:17
on a different team
2:18
and
2:19
the bad thing about this was because you
2:22
can rearrange names on the list because
2:25
it was like magnetic versus it being
2:27
other things and stuff like that
2:29
um
2:30
boiled down to
2:33
the amount of pull
2:35
that either one of us had at any point
2:37
in time
2:38
and so they decided that they wanted to
2:42
uh
2:43
start a fight with me in a place where
2:45
there were no cameras
2:47
mind you
2:48
again throughout this entire state and
2:51
time i
2:52
focus on my work i do very good on my
2:54
work
2:55
but because of who and how i am i always
2:58
end up in hr when i work at a large
3:00
corporation just because there's usually
3:02
people there um in some capacity that i
3:06
don't fit into their category of normal
3:09
and then they try me
3:11
and just because i'm a kind person
3:14
i guess they assume that i'm not going
3:16
to do anything to protect myself
3:19
long story short
3:21
after he did that
3:23
he was afraid that i was going to say
3:25
something
3:26
and decided to say something first
3:29
and of course because of this and there
3:31
was no footage to prove it both of us
3:34
both ended up losing our jobs
3:37
um
3:37
of course i felt some type of way at
3:39
this time but also literally at this
3:41
time i had um about four part-time jobs
3:45
so
3:46
you know it wasn't the end of my world
3:48
but it was one of my favorite jobs
3:50
both because of the benefits and because
3:54
for example i got paid to dance
3:57
in front of the
3:59
the club that they have in the center of
4:00
yara's casino right so like it was i
4:04
knew all of the different places to be i
4:06
knew the map of the area because we
4:08
needed a map to be able to navigate and
4:10
then um i was actually actively working
4:13
in multiple places
4:14
the same thing happened when i was in
4:16
the periton
4:18
hotel
4:19
but different things happened there of
4:21
course but meaning that i'm always in a
4:24
position because of my intelligence to
4:29
be at a higher functioning position
4:31
but i
4:33
previously used to run into
4:35
either an intimidated manager which of
4:38
course because of the power and balance
4:41
that would cause a problem one way or
4:43
another
4:44
usually on their part not on mine
4:46
or
4:47
um
4:49
there was another person that was
4:51
working with me who
4:54
didn't understand me and they didn't
4:55
want to take the time to understand me
4:57
of course i was very green at this time
4:59
so i also didn't know how to
5:01
express myself in such a way for them to
5:03
understand because i'm only just now
5:05
turning 30 so you can imagine i was
5:08
about 21 at that time so i
5:11
there was no there was no way um to
5:14
communicate these things um accurately
5:17
or
5:17
in a way where i was not self-conscious
5:20
or et cetera et cetera
5:22
so the only good thing
5:25
that came out of that
5:27
aside from him also getting fired which
5:29
was a consolation prize for me um was
5:32
also that like literally this was in new
5:35
orleans so the
5:37
casino's right on the pier it's like
5:39
literally number one
5:41
is the number of the building like in in
5:44
the entire city
5:46
um and so it's right off of a pier
5:49
and about a week later um all the
5:52
newspapers stated that a giant pothole
5:56
um fell into the city like into the
6:00
section that i happen to be like into
6:04
ballet
6:05
so you know everything happens for a
6:06
reason but of course from this corporate
6:08
battlefield i learned a few things i
6:10
learned that
6:12
always have your own evidence of things
6:14
and i also learned that if there's no
6:17
way to prove stuff they'll likely just
6:19
fire both people in the scenario so yeah
6:23
that's uh all for this one um the other
6:26
one was more interesting
6:28
in terms of uh
6:31
in terms of
6:32
a lot of things but i am not going to
6:34
use people like that so
6:37
i hope you enjoyed this video peace
