Shadow sent me their smart robot pool cleaner so in this video I'm going to do a quick unboxing and test this out to see how well it works
0:05
So up top we're going to have the user manual, the retrieval hook, the power cord, and finally the robot pool cleaner itself
0:11
Now this thing looks like a mini tank and that's because it covers up to 1614 square feet which is going to be more than enough for my pool
0:17
And because of its size it's going to be on the heavier side at 19.8 pounds but it still has a great battery life at one and a half hours and it takes about two and a half hours to charge fully
0:25
Now charging this is pretty easy. The cover just has to be lifted right up and when I plug it in it actually talks to me
0:31
So hear what it says. That's so cool. I never had a robot cleaner that actually goes ahead and speaks
0:38
Now it's got a pretty respectable moving speed at 59 feet per minute. And since it does climb walls it needs a minimum height of 1.6 feet all the way up to 16.4 feet
0:47
Which is going to be more than enough for my pool. Especially since this is an above ground pool not an in ground so I'll be interested in seeing what it does here
0:53
All right, so it's finished charging and now I can go ahead and put this in the pool
0:57
And of course, the cap does have to be placed right back inside. Now, before turning this on, I just want you to go ahead and see what the pool looks like
1:12
So it looks fairly clear, but there are going to be some spots
1:17
So there's like a bunch of dark spots I see over here, over there in the back
1:21
And then I saw some on the right side as well too
1:26
Yeah, like all over here. So I'm hoping the robot will do a good job cleaning all that
1:33
And yeah, everything seems to be dispersed. There's nothing in the center. Usually I know it piles up in the center here So it got a lot of work to do around the edges actually all around there yeah this thing is ginormous so this is my first time trying out something this big again tank
1:48
light looks really cool oh actually have to remove some of the plastic on the side as well too
1:52
all right so now i'm ready to put the robot in the pool but beforehand let me just go ahead and
1:57
turn it on and here it flashes blue and it's going to give me a message welcome to the shadow pool
2:02
cleaning robot i'm ready to work now it's all cover mode all right perfect now i can gently put this
2:12
in here and it's sinking real slowly and here we can see it's going to turn blue and we can see
2:22
blue up on top and that's going to signify that it's working oh a bunch of bubbles yeah this thing
2:29
looks ginormous here. Yeah this is the biggest pool cleaner I've ever seen so
2:37
yeah there's no missing this in the water. And there. And there we could see it's actually climbing the wall. Oh that looks really
2:48
cool. Oh that's so cool. And here we could see a spurts of water just getting shot out
2:59
Alright now I just going to go ahead and start the timer for this
3:38
So I'm pleasantly surprised because this actually lasted more than an hour and a half
3:42
Now I just got to retrieve it, but I'll do that tomorrow morning when it's sunny. just so you can go ahead and see a little bit more of how much it cleaned the pool
3:48
And by the way, this is what I'm currently seeing. Here you got the robot, and it's just blinking on and off red
3:54
letting us know that the battery died. And here's what the edge of the pool looks like
4:02
But yeah, as of now, I don't really see any of those dark spots I did before
4:07
So hopefully it's going to be a lot inside the filter when I check it out tomorrow
4:11
All right, and there's the vacuum, so now it's time to retrieve it. And also since it's daytime here you can go ahead and get a better look at the pool
4:17
So it cleaned it out really well. I don't see any of those dark spots around the edge
4:22
And there's nothing in the center as well too. So, so far it did a pretty good job
4:27
And here's a closer look. Hopefully you could see that the walls are looking clean as well too
4:33
All right, so here it is. It's blinking red because it's low battery and every few seconds
4:49
it's actually telling me to go ahead and turn it off. Just like that. So I can just go ahead and
4:57
Hold this. Please enjoy your pool Goodbye And there now it off And now let see how much stuff it actually picked up So then these tabs can be put to the side This can be lifted right up
5:11
Along with this. Oh yeah, that looks really dirty at the bottom
5:16
And here, let me remove these two parts. And there you can see a bunch of algae, some grass
5:26
And yeah, it ended up picking, oh, I even see a bug over here. But yeah, picked up a lot of stuff
5:31
Thankfully, it looks like the pool wasn't too dirty. Otherwise, this would be filled with a bunch of leaves
5:35
But it definitely did a good job so far. All right, so before washing it, I just want to get rid of as much as this is possible here
5:43
And there. So I got rid of a lot of the thick stuff. There's still a little bit of stuff in the center there
5:47
But that'll wash off with the water. So now all I have to do is just wash this and charge the robot so I can use it for next time
5:54
So with the filter clean, now I can go ahead and put everything back in place. starting with the cap right on top and this goes right here and then finally the other cap and this
6:05
one can be a little bit tricky to put in so I start with the front just like this and then push
6:10
these two inside and there everything's locked in place and now these side clips can go
6:22
and there so overall i'm pretty impressed by the seattle crab robot vacuum cleaner
6:29
it was easy to use it's ginormous so it did a pretty good job in the pool
6:33
and one thing i was surprised about is the fact that it did climb the stairs now thankfully it didn't go ahead and affect the cleaning process it just went ahead and
6:40
cleaned along as well as the the walls too but yeah that's a quick look at the vacuum
