Today I'm comparing the Homelin T6 and the Pelagon toilet safety rails
0:04
and by the end of this video you'll know which one is right for you. Now the T6 attaches right under your toilet seat and it also has two legs for some extra support
0:14
So it's really doing two jobs at once. It's gonna be bolted down and it's gonna be floor supported
0:20
Now the Pelagon works differently. It's gonna skip the bolts entirely and instead it's standing on its own
0:26
It's free standing which makes it easier to move around. Now getting the T6 on was fairly quick. I just popped off the cover
0:33
screw the rail underneath, and it snapped the cover back on. The Pelagon does take a little
0:38
bit more time and that's because of the knobs. You have four to hand tighten which isn't too bad
0:43
and then there's four C-clamps to push in. Now this is where the gap really opens up. The T6 only
0:49
adjusts one way which is the width. Its legs move up and down too but that's just to level things
0:55
out with your toilet so you can't really change how high the handles sit. The Pelagon on the other
0:59
hand it does adjust and it's gonna give you two directions. You get seven width settings to fine
1:04
tune your fit plus with the push button legs you can also raise or lower the whole rail too with
1:09
seven adjustabilities as well too. Now my bathroom cabinet sat close to where the rail would go so I
1:14
just ended up narrowing the width by a bit. Now both rails have foam padded handles so they're
1:20
gonna be pretty comfortable and that a tie at first glance though because the Pelagon adds a small detail that changes how it actually feels and that going to be a slight tilt built into it so instead of gripping something flat that angle is just going to make it feel a little bit more comfortable and natural and the same
1:35
thing goes when i sit down and rest my elbows and arms on it i'm going to have a little bit of a
1:40
tilt which makes me a little bit more relaxed there so nothing stiff or locked there's also a
1:45
stylistic touch here too the foam runs a dark gray that matches the knobs and the rubber feet
1:50
so the whole thing looks like it was actually designed together. The T6 handles are still solid and comfortable
1:55
they just don't have that same thoughtful shaping behind them. And this next part might flip your opinion on which one you trust more
2:02
So more moving parts usually means more give, and that held true here
2:06
Now the T6 stayed fairly stable with some wobble, but the Pelagon had more give than I expected
2:12
And that's worth knowing up front if a rock solid feel matters most to you
2:16
Even so, the wobble didn't mean weakness, I pushed it further than it should have
2:20
doing an l-sit on it which you probably shouldn't do but it held up without any issue. Now this is
2:25
where the pelagon shines and that's because you just lift it up and move it. That makes it easy
2:30
to sweep under and you can even fold it to make it easy to travel with. The t6 doesn't offer any
2:35
of that because once it's bolted in that's where it's staying. So which one is better? Well that
2:41
depends on what you're looking for. If you care about something taking up as little space as
2:45
possible and you don't care that it's fixed, then the T6 is the way to go. But if you want to be
2:50
able to move your toilet safety rails around, then the Pelagon is the winner
