It's interesting, Heather B.
0:03
You know, I' I've been very fortunate.
0:04
God has tremendously blessed me.
0:06
Amen. Amen. Amen.
0:08
I often reference you and I as the two
0:10
muppets that sit in the balcony doing a
0:12
muppet show.
0:12
The two the two judges. The two the
0:14
grumpy
0:15
the two grumpy muppets in the balcony.
0:17
But
0:18
but we get to watch the entire show.
0:21
Absolutely.
0:21
From beginning to end. And we always got
0:24
front row seats. And my my front row
0:26
seat in this in this young man's journey
0:29
has been just a great place to be to
0:33
watch him grow um from somebody who
0:36
really came from these streets in
0:38
Oakland and California and Northern
0:40
California. Him, his uncle really been
0:42
in in involved in the streets on every
0:45
level, you know, from the the bright
0:47
side to the dark side. And to watch the
0:50
two of them as a family, to watch a
0:53
nephew embrace his uncle or uncle
0:55
embraces his nephew. We don't see that
0:57
dynamic as often. We say uncle and it
1:00
ain't really
1:02
that that biological connection. We we
1:04
throw around like we throw the word
1:06
legend
1:06
or cousin.
1:07
Yeah. Or cousin. Right. But in this
1:09
case, um this is a true dynamic to
1:12
watch.
1:13
Mr. FAB, a songwriter, a entrepreneur, a
1:18
community activist, uh somebody who's
1:20
been a pillar, one of the one of the key
1:23
members in what we call the hy movement.
1:26
Um even prior to that, he has been a
1:28
staple involved in the DNA of Bay Area
1:31
hip hop. Um he's one of the illst off
1:34
the top of the head that the game that
1:36
the culture has ever seen. A lot of
1:39
people don't mention him, but they
1:41
should. When it comes to freestyle raps,
1:43
there ain't a handful of people that can
1:45
even hang with him. I got a chance to
1:48
host a battle he did um in Oakland,
1:50
California, and I never witnessed
1:52
anything quite like it. You know, I
1:55
haven't hosted a battle since.
2:00
Well, not that kind of battle, but um
2:02
this man in my opinion um is the
2:05
quintessential
2:07
um Bay Area representative, community
2:09
activist, artist um who cares. Dope era
2:13
is a a store that he opened, but it's
2:15
more than just a merch store that where
2:17
you could buy some of the greatest
2:19
clothes, some of the most original
2:20
clothes that have context to it, but
2:22
it's a gathering spot for people when
2:25
they come to town. If you want to have a
2:27
real Bay Area, a real Oakland
2:28
experience, you got to go by dope era.
2:31
And when you go by dope error, you never
2:33
know who you might bump into. It might
2:35
be Bun B, it might be Snoop, it might be
2:39
the Baby, it might be Fabulous. Whoever
2:41
is coming to town, they got to stop by
2:44
and and and check in in and not in the
2:48
in this negative connotation, but if you
2:51
really want to have a a great Bay Area
2:53
experience, you got to see him. Every
2:55
time I see him, I smile. When I see his
2:57
uncle, man, I light up. I love the work
2:59
they're doing in my hometown, and I want
3:02
to say thank you. And this is going to
3:04
continue right now as we talk about his
3:06
week that's coming up now. Give it up
3:08
for Ank and the one and only Mr. Fab is
3:12
in the building, baby. What up, man?
3:16
Man, that's crazy. Them
3:18
intros be so humbling.
3:20
But it's it's genuine though, just based
3:22
off the fact um you've been my mentor my
3:26
whole life. You're somebody that I've
3:27
always wanted to aspire to be as to be
3:30
like.
3:31
Um you've laid down the blueprint of
3:33
what it's like to embody Oakland,
3:35
California, all around the world, no
3:36
matter what. Although some people never
3:38
get a chance to venture outside of their
3:40
demographics, you've been all around the
3:42
world and you've done things uh in such
3:45
a Oakland way. You know, if Oakland was
3:46
a person, it would be sway. And I'm so
3:49
thankful to uh to mirror those
3:51
footsteps, man, and continue to try to
3:53
keep uh up with the with the with the
3:55
trail that you've blazed and then
3:56
continuence of representing our city
3:58
everywhere we go. And so I'm just humbly
4:00
uh appreciative to continue to keep
4:02
growing and keep blossoming right before
4:04
uh the world to see.
4:06
Cross.
4:06
Damn, man. You just introed me, man.
4:08
What the
4:09
How do you just switch that up, man?
4:13
He's good at what he does. He's good at
4:15
what he does.
4:16
Pass the game up. He might be coming for
4:18
your job. What's up?
4:20
He passed it. He might be coming for
4:21
your job.
4:22
He passed the job, bro. I'm like, "Wow."
4:26
Start me dog. That's me, man.
4:29
No, I I love you, too. Um, and you don't
4:32
you don't have to do this, right? Um,
4:35
which I appreciate. And you found a
4:37
really great balance, Fab, and how you
4:41
communicate. You are ambidextrous in how
4:44
you communicate because you speak you're
4:47
mo what you're multi- you you can speak
4:50
multi- languages, right? You could speak
4:52
to the person that came up on 23rd A or
4:56
85th or or in Bush Rod or in the Acorns
5:00
and you're relatable, but then you can
5:02
sit down with the mayor of Oakland as
5:04
well and translate what it is the voice
5:07
of the people have to say and what we're
5:09
dealing with.
5:11
How did you develop that skill? And when
5:14
did you learn? Because I had to do that.
5:16
I had to learn that I have to switch up
5:18
my dialect when I'm starting to speak to
5:21
large larger audiences. I can't just
5:23
talk to the block. I need everybody to
5:25
hear it.
5:26
When did you come to that crossroad in
5:28
the way you communicate?
5:30
Well, my mother played a significant
5:31
role in that. Um, I think when as a
5:34
youth when I was punished, some of the
5:36
forms of my punishment would be read the
5:38
dictionary
5:39
and read the thesaurus. And those are
5:42
things that she would be like, uh, I'm
5:44
not going to listen to your music if you
5:46
keep cussing. So, she helped me develop
5:48
the vocabulary at an early age. And I
5:51
understand uh in in communication, we
5:53
must be able to take some of the most
5:55
difficult things and and situations and
5:57
explain them to people that can't fathom
5:59
what it's like. So um as a voice of our
6:03
city, you can't speak for the people if
6:06
you don't know the language of the
6:07
people
6:08
and there's a hidden dialect in every
6:11
urban city uh around the country and
6:14
even every native tongue around the
6:16
world and there are spokesmen that go
6:18
out and they speak about the powers of
6:20
that village for the rest of the world
6:22
to understand it. Some that may not
6:23
understand the native dialect. So, you
6:25
learn how to transfer uh in conversation
6:28
to be able to elaborate on what it's
6:30
like to come from the spaces that we
6:32
come from. Um, you've done done a
6:33
tremendous job. I remember watching you
6:35
interview Obama and I just was in awe
6:37
like
6:38
look at bro that's East Oakland right
6:40
there sitting down with the prey heavy.
6:42
You know what I'm saying? And it it was
6:43
a beautiful thing because you still kept
6:46
your essence.
6:47
You still kept the essence of this is
6:49
where I'm from. This is where I'm born
6:51
from. And I think there is once upon a
6:53
time where as black uh men we uh we were
6:57
honored and and and almost somewhat
7:00
stimulated when we saw uh men who spoke
7:03
with articulation and great skill a
7:05
great skill set. Remember we are the
7:07
offspring of the Huey Newton
7:10
uh other powerful speakers that come
7:11
from our area and come from our city.
7:13
Um and those are the people that we
7:15
study, man. You know what I'm saying?
7:16
Just as much as we studied the urban
7:18
legends in the neighborhoods. Uh we also
7:21
had to study poignant figures that
7:23
represented a sophisticated side of the
7:26
lifestyle, you know, that that we come
7:27
from. So a great blend is always uh it
7:30
never hurt nobody.
7:30
Ain't never hurt nobody, man. You can
7:32
play both sides of the fence. You do it
7:34
well. What is
7:36
what is the voice of the youth in
7:38
Oakland saying now? Because when you
7:40
look at Oakland headlines, they they
7:42
they play to that narrative, that
7:44
negative algorithm. But when I come to
7:46
Oakland, I see nothing but beautiful
7:48
people doing beautiful things, you know,
7:51
but what is it? There's obviously some
7:53
voids. Um, what is the voice of the
7:56
youth saying now? What is it they want?
7:58
What do you think they need? I think I
8:00
had to dive deep into, you know, the
8:02
dichotomy of what was going on with the
8:03
youth. So I created a music program uh
8:06
that we launched in juvenile hall
8:08
just so I can basically extract
8:11
sentiments from the youth directly
8:12
because there are so many people
8:14
speaking about the youth without the
8:15
youth and how can you voice what a young
8:18
guy is going through based off what you
8:21
went through at that age. Times have
8:22
changed
8:23
drastically.
8:24
Uh the the the the
8:26
the social peer pressures are far more
8:28
greater than what they were when we were
8:30
young. you know, um, imagine making one
8:33
mistake and that hangs over your head
8:34
for the rest of your life.
8:35
You did a you made a mistake in fifth
8:37
grade and for the rest of your life they
8:40
can load it up and they can pull it up
8:41
in front of you. So the cyber bullying
8:42
and there are other different social
8:44
pressures that force children into um
8:47
deeper forms of depression and and and
8:49
things of that nature. Um so we built a
8:52
music program
8:54
and through that program
8:56
we just had um
8:59
we were able to extract and we are able
9:01
to extract what are the true thoughts of
9:04
the youth by giving them topics and you
9:06
know emotional uh deploys of saying what
9:09
are y'all going through what what what
9:11
are your feelings about your mom what
9:12
are your feelings about the city and
9:14
I think the common denominator in
9:16
everything that we're dealing with is
9:17
they just need an opportunity
9:19
opportunity They need an opportunity and
9:21
and imagine growing up being a child of
9:25
someone that is emotionally immature.
9:28
And some of the parents that come from
9:29
especially from our generation, they
9:31
were never emotionally available to us.
9:33
And we've learned that uh uh the best
9:36
ability is availability.
9:38
The best ability is availability. Mr.
9:41
Fab is here. Um Ank is here as well. And
9:45
we're talking about Fab Week 26, January
9:49
19th through the 25th. This is what
9:52
Dreamville is to JC Cole. Luda weekend
9:55
is to Ludacris. Um this for us is an
9:59
entire week of community bonding that's
10:01
being curated by Mr. Fab. His uh is here
10:06
too as well. Talk if you can, man. How
10:10
how hard has it been for you to sustain
10:13
Fab Week? And because it ain't easy,
10:16
man. You got to you you're own promoter.
10:18
Like this dude is on big boy. He's going
10:20
everywhere to promote this. But what
10:23
have you seen significantly like some of
10:25
the rewards of Fab Week? What have you
10:28
How has it impacted our Bay Area?
10:30
Togetherness.
10:31
Yeah.
10:31
I think there's nothing more important
10:33
than community. um and and being able to
10:36
uh amplify the common unity of the
10:38
common folk in the community to be able
10:40
to bridge people that would never be
10:42
under the same roof that would never be
10:44
at the same function and uh problem
10:46
free. Mhm.
10:47
I think when you get a chance to see uh
10:50
the crime is down in the past 5 years
10:52
that we've been doing this
10:54
during FAB week, it's like
10:56
no no murders. No. And those are things
10:58
that we shouldn't be like all in and all
11:00
of. But when you're living in the city
11:01
that we're from, we can't be naive to,
11:04
you know, how things can turn into a
11:06
drastic situation that fast. But um
11:09
economical empowerment, the small
11:11
businesses that are getting a chance to
11:12
profit from it, the artists that are
11:14
getting a chance to have some exposure,
11:16
the venues and the spaces that are uh
11:18
being a overly populated and enjoying
11:21
and we're bringing money into the
11:22
community, we are also spreading money
11:24
around. Um there's nothing like
11:25
economical development when you create
11:28
uh from your curations of events and
11:30
festivities. And then the uh
11:32
philanthropic part of being able to give
11:34
back and donate from the money that
11:36
we're raising from uh the celebrity
11:38
basketball games, the money goes right
11:39
back directly to our alma madas and the
11:42
OAL. We're putting in scholarships, uh
11:44
donating into the sports programs,
11:46
things that have been avoided in our
11:48
community. Some of the things that we
11:49
sit back and we wait on u politicians
11:52
and things to do the stuff for us. And I
11:54
feel that we should no longer have to
11:56
wait on these people. we should do some
11:58
of the work ourselves because who would
12:00
be uh they would be reluctant to help
12:02
you if you're not helping yourself and
12:03
why sit back and wait on something that
12:05
you can do for yourself.
12:06
Um I think the black dollar is uh is
12:09
thriving enough especially when we
12:11
utilize our resources and we come
12:12
together uh the the the the galvanation
12:15
uh galvanizing of that and the proper
12:17
conflation can allow us to uh put things
12:19
together and make a difference. So I see
12:22
a lot of that. I see a lot of things is
12:23
going and just bringing stars into the
12:26
Bay Area and and in such an isolated
12:28
space that people get a chance to be in
12:30
the close proximity of Stephen Curry,
12:32
Marshon Lynch, Mike Eps, and whoever
12:35
else may Dame Dollar and whoever else
12:37
decides to come out Sway and um it's
12:40
just an enjoyable moment, man. There are
12:42
memories that are uh that will last
12:43
forever. Um I know that I'll never
12:46
forget Steph Curry stepping on the
12:47
basketball court playing with the
12:50
community.
12:50
Yeah.
12:50
You know what I'm saying? And it was
12:52
just like, and it wasn't just, oh, hey,
12:55
shoot with the youngster. Oh, good shot,
12:56
youngster. I'm talking about it's really
12:57
competition. Like, he get out there,
12:59
shaking him up, huh?
13:00
Like, somebody scored on him. My boy
13:02
Philly B from San Francisco, Double
13:03
Rock, he scored on Steph and Steph took
13:05
it personal. He was like, "Give me the
13:07
ball."
13:08
So, so they like going at it. All I
13:11
could hear is at the time I could just
13:12
hear Bob Myers like, "Fab,
13:14
if Steph gets hurt, you're gonna pay for
13:16
this." Like, I'm like, "I can't afford
13:18
it." Yeah.
13:19
But um just you know Steph being
13:23
just Steph being Steph being amazing.
13:25
You know what I'm saying? Coming out to
13:26
a neighborhood that has been rumored to
13:28
be dangerous uh by himself. No security.
13:32
Uh stepping out on the basketball court
13:34
and indulging in, you know, neighborhood
13:36
activities is just a testament of who he
13:37
is as a person and why we admire him so
13:40
much beyond basketball.
13:41
Just like New York got the Ruckers, you
13:43
know what I mean?
13:45
We got this dope Eric Court, right? And
13:47
if you in what part of Oakland if they
13:49
want to come see it, you want to visit
13:51
uh from North Oakland. You know, it's on
13:53
uh 44th in London. It's a basketball
13:55
court that I grew up on that the city
13:56
neglected for over three decades. It had
13:59
never been touched. It had never been
14:00
modified and updated. And um I took it
14:03
upon my own self. As I said in the uh
14:05
aforementioned, why would we sit back
14:07
and wait on city officials to build a
14:09
court when we're in position to do it?
14:10
And people will sit back and be like,
14:12
"Yo, man, I'm they got to pay for this."
14:13
Nah, man. You got to pay this your
14:15
community. Yeah. You know, we need to
14:16
get back and taking grips of our own
14:18
community and saying, "Look at the money
14:19
that you waste on other stuff."
14:21
We we we waste that money, the 30,
14:23
40,000, whatever it may have costed to
14:25
renovate the basketball court. Um,
14:29
I watched MC Hammer on on an interview
14:31
with you.
14:31
Mhm.
14:32
Say,
14:33
"I never worried about money loss. I
14:36
could always make money."
14:37
Yeah.
14:37
He said, "I was a bat boy at 8, nine
14:39
years old making money for the Oakland
14:41
A's. Money was never my, you know, that
14:44
that wasn't my go-to. that wasn't my
14:45
thing. So, if my sacrifice is I I spent
14:50
40,000, but my reward is I've saved so
14:53
many lives and I helped these kids
14:56
create a safe space that was an Eegis
14:58
space for them to be able to say, I
15:01
don't have to worry about, you know,
15:03
anything outside of this. We can go to
15:05
this basketball court. It's safe. It's
15:07
it's, you know, the smooth pavement.
15:09
Hey, man. I'm happy with that. That
15:11
40,000 I don't even think twice about,
15:12
man. I heard that, man. Mr. FAB is here.
15:15
UNK is here. We talking about Fab Week
15:17
26. Load up that Gop song we just
15:20
played. Torch and DB. I want to get
15:22
right to it.
15:23
You going to be able to do it.
15:25
Who's that? Double XX
15:26
Jersey City. That's
15:27
double X posi.
15:28
Mhm.
15:29
Man, Mr. Fab is here.
15:32
Is here. Yep.
15:33
Kenji is on the line from North
15:35
Carolina. Welcome to the show. We're
15:36
talking about Kenji
15:37
Fab Week 26, man. January 19th through
15:40
the 25th. All you got to do is go to
15:42
dopera.com.
15:43
It's a lot of festivities.
15:45
Yeah.
15:46
Lot of festivities. Kenji, you don't try
15:48
to make it from North Carolina.
15:51
I wish I could.
15:53
I wish I could. Can you guys Can you
15:55
guys hear me? Okay.
15:57
Yeah, we hear you loud and clear. What's
15:58
on your mind? Well, I was just when I
16:02
got in the car and I heard the song, the
16:04
one um If the world would listen, it
16:07
just kind of reminded me of a soundtrack
16:10
for the monks that are currently dur
16:13
doing the Walk for Peace across the East
16:16
Coast. If if you could like put their
16:18
mission to that music, it would be so
16:21
nice and beautiful. I I love love love
16:25
that song.
16:27
I appreciate that.
16:28
Yeah. Yeah. I I love that song and I if
16:31
they could put the Walk for Peace to
16:34
music. I think that song would be a
16:37
great addition to it.
16:40
No, I appreciate that. Uh Gua poured it
16:43
out from her soul and just having her on
16:45
there has always been a lifetime dream
16:46
of mine coming from Oakland. Um her
16:48
being, you know, the queen of Neo Soul
16:51
and being able to extend a hand and
16:53
getting on the record just talking about
16:55
some worldly things. Um, I'm glad that
16:57
it's viewed in the likeness of that of
16:59
the monks and their peace walk. And uh,
17:01
I commend all of the things that they've
17:02
dedicated their lives to for peace of
17:05
the world because it's something that's
17:06
much needed. So I appreciate your
17:08
sentiments, ma'am.
17:09
No problem.
17:10
Can they get the record?
17:11
Nope. It ain't even It's this the first
17:12
time that it's ever been played.
17:14
Oh. Oh wow.
17:16
Look, you heard what said. Uncle said I
17:18
ain't even heard it.
17:19
How you not here?
17:21
He be acting funny. Oh, but I see your
17:24
uncle.
17:26
Yo, I see that Kenji, you a citizen,
17:28
but I see a lot of times we got fabs.
17:31
This is his real uncle, man. And I want
17:33
to say I want to commend you because you
17:36
know when we when we reach a certain age
17:39
we feel like um that we we're un we
17:43
we're unimpactful like that
17:46
you know that we're oblivious to the
17:48
youth that they can't hear us you know
17:51
and I don't think that's true. I watch
17:54
you meet people where they are.
17:56
I watch you go to space spaces and
17:58
celebrate with the youth. You party with
18:00
the youth and you always leave them with
18:03
some gyms, you know. I watch you build
18:05
spaces that youth could come to and
18:07
create in, you know, and you keep going.
18:11
What is your message to people who of a
18:13
certain age that feel like they can't be
18:15
utilized to get to the youth? Um,
18:20
for me, I guess, um, I want to when I
18:24
was younger, the people that was older
18:26
than me, um, and the voices that I was
18:29
attract attracted to only told me things
18:32
that led me down deep, dark paths
18:34
of my life, you know what I mean? So,
18:36
um,
18:38
so when I when when I think about, um,
18:41
somebody older having a voice, um, I
18:44
think about trying to give them the
18:47
opposite of that.
18:48
Yeah.
18:49
You know, to, um, and to be just as
18:52
attractive to them as the street people
18:56
was to me, but don't go that route. And,
18:59
and and they show them that I've been
19:01
down that route already. um I spent 22
19:04
years getting high and going in out of
19:06
jail. So it's like I um the challenges
19:10
that's ahead of them based on the
19:12
direction that they going with their
19:14
life. I've already been down that path.
19:16
So what I try to do is I try to um
19:19
I try to be that attraction.
19:21
Yeah.
19:21
Because that attraction is what gets the
19:23
attention and then I try to give them
19:25
jewels that may not register today. Mhm.
19:28
What you getting eye off of?
19:29
Heron. You always want to be You want to
19:32
try it?
19:33
Okay. Stop asking about it.
19:38
I got a real uncle that say that [ __ ]
19:41
You want to try it?
19:44
She's so inquisitive about it.
19:47
But um but yeah, I that that
19:50
Yo, passing somebody a needle is crazy.
19:54
You go fast.
19:55
You think somebody passed me one,
19:56
right? Right.
19:57
So, it ain't that crazy as we think. And
19:59
and our kids right now, um,
20:02
we we we don't understand that
20:05
drug addiction to us look like a
20:07
homeless person.
20:08
Yeah.
20:08
It doesn't look like a young kid, 15, 16
20:10
year old taking perks, jumping out cars,
20:12
robbing old ladies with no conscience.
20:15
It does. That doesn't that to us to us
20:18
that doesn't look like a drug addict.
20:19
Yeah.
20:20
But actually, our youth are drug
20:21
addicts,
20:22
you know. Um, and they drug addicts from
20:25
people in position that gets the
20:27
attention that makes them think cuz I'm
20:29
promoting, I get high, that's something
20:31
that you should do. So, it's a lot of
20:33
people out here that's ir that's not
20:35
responsible for painting the picture
20:38
that's leading our youth down the wrong
20:39
path. And they the same people now
20:41
that's more so saying, "Hey, that
20:43
lifestyle ain't cool." Well, why you
20:45
keep promoting it like it is? Why you
20:47
keep telling our kids that's trying to
20:49
find a way in life, this is a way for
20:51
them to go? And if they look up to you,
20:54
if they admire your life, if they are
20:56
fascinated by the things you have, they
20:59
gonna mimic what they think that look
21:02
like in the position that they in to be
21:04
able to do so. So you might be able to
21:07
afford your high because you got some
21:09
things that's going on in your life that
21:11
you think is going to stay afloat to be
21:13
able to hold up that addiction that you
21:15
have. A kid don't have that option.
21:18
Yeah. He his sources his his ways of
21:22
income is so small at that young of an
21:25
age that he going to jump out and do the
21:28
things that he shouldn't be doing
21:31
to to feed a monster that's going that's
21:33
brewing inside of him and no one's
21:35
paying attention to him or you are
21:37
overlooked
21:38
and underappreciated.
21:40
The only time we pointing something out
21:42
about them is when they doing something
21:43
that we feel like they shouldn't be
21:45
doing. But we we we'll get we'll talk to
21:48
them more about what they doing wrong
21:50
than what they doing right.
21:52
They mama spend more time on their phone
21:54
than they do in conversation with them.
21:56
You know, I'm a um
21:57
cooking this morning, baby.
21:58
I'm a youth life coach.
22:00
I'm a youth life coach. I deal with the
22:02
kids every day.
22:03
You know, I go in juvenile hall. I um I
22:06
go to their schools. Um, and I'm there
22:09
for them in in the moments that in in
22:12
conversations that they too afraid to
22:15
have with their parents or other people
22:17
because um because of judgment or
22:20
because punishment either one, you know,
22:22
um when you talk to me,
22:24
I'm more so like
22:26
big brother,
22:28
you know what I'm saying? Me? Um
22:30
and that gives me like the ability to to
22:34
allow them to open up. You can't help a
22:37
person
22:38
if you can't get that person to open up.
22:40
And that take work. That take time.
22:42
Like I mean, if we wanted to talk about
22:44
Fab week 26, Fab is it is about Can you
22:48
freestyle about it and I'll throw a few
22:50
things out?
22:51
I got to throw one out.
22:52
Okay. You ready?
22:53
Yeah. Okay.
22:56
Stripper Bowl. What is it?
23:01
She want to know what the stripper bowl
23:02
is. Pre- Super Bowl. Cuz the Super
23:04
Bowl's in Fris. So now we going to do a
23:06
party, make the girls get low. Couple
23:08
poles, maybe rhymes with the disco.
23:10
Couple 304s, but you know that's how
23:12
this go. I'm just from Oakland. Cookies
23:14
like the Bisco bouncing. We shoot a
23:16
game. Pistol Mavericks or should I say
23:18
Maravic? This is the heritage. I'mma
23:20
tell the narrative. Triple boas where
23:22
they throw ones for the funs just to see
23:24
some uh tetas and buns. Okay. And I'm
23:26
probably on one. And that's Saturday the
23:28
24th. We going to be up in there with
23:30
plenty of course. And this at Desi's is
23:32
heavy. I think I gotta do better like
23:34
prey, but let me I'm sipping this tea
23:36
since I ain't ready. They singing off
23:37
the rhyme and I'm serious. And just in
23:39
case you curious, the stripper bowl
23:41
gonna have them delirious. Booty booty
23:43
booty bouncing everywhere. The players
23:45
ball. Yeah, cuz you really can't be
23:46
square. And sugarree the homie and the
23:48
pe is going to be there and rapping
23:50
forte players club. Oh yeah, I can't
23:52
forget too short ball like a who court
23:54
could have made the league but I think
23:55
that I was too short but we back up in
23:57
here when I'm doing what I do. course of
23:59
who force uh when I do it like you
24:01
source and U-Haul knock them out the
24:03
game like a Q ball huh and slip words in
24:05
just like a-haul and you dog whatever
24:07
I'm doing I'm on a l I'm stumping on the
24:10
yard got me feeling like celebrity
24:12
celebrity bowling where I'm throwing
24:13
strike strike a spare eight or nine if
24:15
you care if you really there we make a
24:17
lot of money bowling on that lane if you
24:19
got game put up some change okay I'm off
24:21
the same doing what I'm doing in the
24:23
striking right down the all in this
24:25
purple like a Viking they wonder how he
24:27
doing up the hill like a Viking I'm back
24:29
in the game when I'm rapping. It's
24:31
exciting. And I ain't even playing to
24:32
rap today. I was banner rap today. I was
24:34
really sitting back on my nana rap
24:36
today. I was really on philosophy hype.
24:38
When I was sitting back chilling with
24:40
the mic be right
24:42
comedy when I'm on E might do a little
24:45
dramdy and probably cuz I believe it's
24:47
fit my philosophy when I got a game
24:49
boardwalk park place that's a monopoly.
24:51
They ain't stopping me. And this is to
24:53
the pro me and you ain't got to like it
24:54
but you better give your props to me.
24:56
Huh? The uh game is going to be crazy
24:58
and I'm on stage doing stand up. Please
25:00
put your hands up, hands up if you don't
25:02
understand that we lay up. We said
25:03
bowling. I think you trolling. Back to
25:05
this game so we like the superintendent.
25:09
I got the power like
25:11
and the punches for the lunch. The
25:13
brunch with bougie is going to be off
25:15
the hut and we going to have everything
25:17
like uh beans, tomato, greens. Well,
25:20
something like Latifah or should I say
25:22
Patty Lavel. Oh well, it's going to be
25:24
hot as hell. Shell and we going to be up
25:26
in there with my home girl DJing,
25:28
replaying, e saying, listen what he's
25:30
saying. The brunch is on Sunday, the
25:32
game is on Monday, the bowling on
25:33
Monday, the comedy is Tuesday and
25:35
Wednesday we skating and Thursday, no
25:37
hating, but this going to be the best
25:38
show. No debating. I'm live at Yoshi's.
25:40
You know me balling with the OG. Can't
25:43
do helicopters. Rest in peace to the
25:44
Kobes. Everybody low C's. They moving so
25:47
we lowkey. Stanley, you grew up. Damn.
25:49
Now I'm a OG. Fridays the player ball.
25:51
Saturdays the car show. Late night to
25:53
strip a bowl. That's for the all though.
25:55
And who you know throw a party for seven
25:56
days. 10 events all off his own expense
25:59
don't make sense but still be moving the
26:01
high vents. Presidential status when I
26:03
pull up behind fence remind us both
26:06
souls behind this. And please be
26:07
reminded dope errors behind this. The
26:10
highness the prince turn the king still
26:12
doing his thing. Bow down and kiss the
26:14
ring and I'm studed a buted. Never ever
26:16
would I stuttered. If you buted you
26:17
might get Joe that's on a rogan hogan.
26:20
No Logan. And this is with the slogan.
26:22
The airway, not the other way. That's
26:23
the slogan. Shout out to BZ Bands, my
26:26
young man. And I love you for show. We
26:28
thug in. You know I represent the O. The
26:30
north side cold, the east side, west
26:33
side all around the globe. T got me tree
26:35
styling and I'ming meanwhile. We just
26:37
sing her patient like a shin punk. Never
26:40
been a punk off the sunk and everywhere
26:42
I go, you know I'm walking in with her.
26:44
Me and Heather torch flowing back. And
26:47
shout out to Sway and the homie King
26:48
Tech. Yeah.
26:52
It's been a while, man.
26:57
Yo,
26:58
we got it. Tracy,
27:00
is that is crazy?
27:03
Yo, that's crazy.
27:04
You was going to be running from that.
27:06
We've been in three or four spots in the
27:08
last couple days. And everywhere we go,
27:10
he keeps saying, "Man, I'm not here to
27:11
freestyle my throat. I've been
27:13
practicing."
27:15
That's why I gave him a double shot of
27:16
honey when I made his tea out there cuz
27:18
I knew the setup was coming. But I can't
27:20
tell Suede that I can't freestyle. Like,
27:23
you know what I'm saying? That you can't
27:24
like it's just
27:25
I think that would be disrespectful not
27:27
only to the culture, but to his
27:29
influence in my life for, you know,
27:31
being able to defend the things that he
27:34
said about me in the rooms that I
27:35
haven't entered and in the
27:36
conversations. And it's just paying
27:38
homage, man, to the big homie, but also
27:40
showing that, you know, hip-hop is still
27:42
alive. And even at this tender age of 22
27:44
twice, I'm still nice.
27:46
There you go, man. 444.
27:49
He's still off the top. Yo, Principal
27:51
Akbar, we want to thank you for coming
27:53
by. Akbar Cook, right? You could catch
27:56
him. He's speaking on education today. I
27:59
mean, this weekend in LA,
28:00
he is.
28:00
We got a better freestyler than u
28:03
anybody in Jersey that's from.
28:06
Wow. Now you Now you starting [ __ ]
28:09
I put fab I put FAB against anybody.
28:12
We all family. Like, what are you doing,
28:14
bro?
28:14
No, I get it.
28:15
Dr. Cook, I would love to get invite you
28:17
to uh I do an ESG, which is an emotional
28:20
support group called Thug Therapy. It's
28:22
a mental health wellness thing that we
28:24
meet bi-weekly amongst black men in the
28:27
community. Um we've had everyone from
28:28
Ryan Cougler to uh Nick Cannon to
28:32
several individuals come out and speak.
28:34
And I would love for you to share share
28:35
your thoughts. You know, the the floor
28:37
is open for men and women, but you know,
28:39
primarily we we hope to get men in to
28:41
come about and just talk about a
28:43
multitude of things, man. And then it's
28:45
just uh it's called Thug Therapy. It
28:46
stands for teaching uh healing, uniting,
28:48
and guiding. And it's just a powerful,
28:50
you know, a fraternity of black men
28:53
utilizing our resources to help. Man, I
28:55
would love to link up with you one day
28:56
and bring you out to the Bay Area, man,
28:58
to have you part of that.
28:59
I'll put you on a text,
29:00
man. That would be dope, man. That
29:01
would, you know, just spreading like cuz
29:03
we want to we just want to continue to
29:04
paint options for the youth.
29:06
I think that's the most important thing
29:07
to let them know, bro. We
29:09
for sure, man. That'll be dope, man.
29:10
Love, man. Respect the work you doing,
29:12
brother.
29:12
I haven't done it yet. I haven't done
29:14
it. So you're you're wondering why Cook
29:16
got invited before you or
29:18
No, I've been invited. He's been
29:19
invited.
29:19
Just just barely.
29:21
No, we respect busy. Don't do divide. We
29:23
family.
29:24
He just did divide.
29:25
He just told him.
29:27
That wasn't divide. That was bringing
29:28
together
29:28
an eye for a eye. I have all of us
29:30
blind.
29:30
No, I'm down. Somebody got to see it. I
29:32
see it. I see it. I got a third eye. So
29:34
I see.
29:35
What are you talking about? I got you.
29:36
I was in New York. Fab. It's on a
29:38
Thursday. I would have to miss working
29:40
with you to do it. Now we're in LA.
29:42
Please. Shout out to the Spurs. Y'all
29:44
doing real good this year. Let's change
29:46
real
29:49
amazing.
29:49
You can follow Cook at
29:50
principal_archbar.
