9:29
it used to be you know the the projects
9:31

9:34
it's the meat packing District so I lost
9:36

10:31
called good grief and it's I've went
10:33
through a lot the last three years I
10:35
lost I lost uh 57 people that I loved
10:38
damn and one year in three years in
10:41
three years and so I just want people to
10:43
know that you know you can go through
10:44
pain you can go through hurt and at the
10:47
end of the day you can still smile yeah
10:49
and it's about the celebration of life
10:51
and it's not about the death it's about
10:53
the the the the birth of your own
10:55
existence and celebrating yourself and
10:58
really uh celebrating what was fun and
11:00
funny about the people you love so
11:03
there's a really funny special is
11:04
dedicated to my mom and my dad and uh
11:07
yeah so I'm doing it in at the Apollo
11:09
when my mom performed when she was a kid
11:10
with her sisters the green sisters they
11:12
all performed and they won two times at
11:15
the Apollo and uh my parents born and
11:17
raised in Harlem so I wanted to come
11:18
home and honor them and and uh put a Dr
11:20
rest I love it man it's good grief at
11:22
the Apollo this Saturday 6:30 and 9:00
11:24
p.m. I'm at the nyak right now nyak
11:27
Rocky County Levity Live I I don't know
11:29
what that said that oh that's like
11:31
minutes outside of the city sound M okay
11:35
so that sounds like Palisades and their
11:37
mom yeah cuz it's really nice in nyak
11:39
and where you said Rock count yeah that
11:42
sounds like there's projects there that
11:45
sound like [ __ ] still pee in the
11:47
stairwells it's nice in the elevators
11:50
and do graffiti so I'm going to be in a
11:52
nice part nyak with his trees and his
11:55
real birds No Pigeons and uh No Pigeons
11:59
real birds but come on through it's it's
12:01
I'm I'm I'm I'm practicing for my
12:03

12:06
niak I think there's still a few more
12:08
tickets there one tonight two tomorrow
12:10
and then on Saturday I'm at the Apollo
12:13
and then on New Year's Eve I'm at the
12:15
Roxy in Atlanta with a brand new set I
12:18

12:23

12:31

12:34
we should do that [ __ ] Bro think I want
12:36
suits and sneakers I want s suits and
12:39
sneakers and ladies and dresses and
12:41
sneakers and then afterwards we do an
12:43
after after party at Magic City we make
12:45

12:47

12:49
like lamb chops no don't not well we
12:52
ain't making money that I'm spending
12:53

12:56

13:00
nice ladies with big asses through
13:02

13:06

13:10
they rub on you and I you rub on certain
13:12
amount of time my bust a nut sorry D
13:14

13:16
that
13:17
ability at this stage disability man I
13:20
can't your dick retired [ __ ] I got
13:23
teenage dick [ __ ] you get happy you rub
13:26
on me I'mma squirt up just like yeah
13:29
that's sound effect but that's why I
13:30
don't like doing it I I I just rather
13:33
give these ladies money and go thank you
13:35
and and then leave I I'm good for 15 I'm
13:37
too generous they see a sucker when I
13:39
walk in they like sucker and I got a
13:42
good heart and I don't want to touch
13:43
them and stuff cuz I don't want them to
13:45
feel like I'm lascivious
13:48
so I willon take if they want to rub on
13:50
me with their glitter and I don't want
13:51
that Glitter [ __ ] cuz it don't come off
13:53
take three days to come off y guess you

16:26
it meant for a party it's meant the best
16:29

16:33
Marlin going to do man the first thing
16:35
you did that I thought was dope the
16:37
announcer said if you want to take fil
16:39
if you want to film anything do it now
16:42
while he's coming up on stage put it on
16:43

16:46
can't think of the song You came out to
16:48
but it had everybody fired up they got
16:50
to do their filming that was their fix
16:53
and then they cut it and I just saw you
16:55
piece together you might have had a
16:57
routine but you pieced together together
16:58
a show just off the cuff just talking to
17:01
people man I app plotted that [ __ ] I was
17:03
like yeah that's my guy now if he would
17:05
have bombed I would have well here's the
17:08
thing I don't know that [ __ ] let's go
17:10
let me get my to go here's the thing
17:13
right because I don't I stop I don't
17:15
hype myself up when I do shows I used to
17:17
Hype myself up now I ground myself I
17:20
have me a green tea I sit there because
17:22
when I go out my first five minutes I'm
17:24
jabbing at the audience I'm jabbing
17:26
that's I want to see where they at I
17:27
want to see are you tight are you ready
17:29
to get loose are you want to how dark
17:31
can I get oh y'all tight all right let
17:33
me go a little darker let me make you
17:34
hate me now I'm going to make you love
17:36
me and I'll make you hate me again and
17:38
I'm by the end you going to love me
17:39
again or not sometime I leave you with a
17:41
nasty taste in your mouth be like take
17:43
it I'm out
17:44
[ __ ] because the set ain't about y'all
17:47
the set is about me growing as an artist
17:49
what y'all a lot of times what they
17:51
watching is I write on a stage I don't
17:53
sit down with a pen and pad and go
17:55
what's funny I don't do that I go on a
17:57
stage with something that's on my heart
17:59
or in my spirit and I just let that lead
18:02
and then I write my sets I write my sets
18:05
on a stage I never write it down I don't
18:07
do that he'll transcribe it like we'll
18:10
get the audio and we'll transcribe it so
18:12
I see the words and be like oh okay but
18:15
the reality of it is I don't I don't
18:17
look at that I learn mine as I piece it
18:19
together on a stage people paying to
18:21
watch me right and then I get it
18:23
together and then I do a special and
18:25
then I start from scratch and then do
18:27
another one I don't want to on material
18:28
for 15 years I don't want to do that I
18:30
don't want to store with the same set I
18:32
want to go all right this is what's
18:35
happening in my life right now and I'll
18:36
talk about it and then that goes away
18:38
and then it's the challenge of
18:40
recreating something funny because that
18:42
makes you a better writer a better
18:44
producer and as an artist you evolve I
18:46
don't be stuck in my my my my my early
18:49
years I'm 50 man I got to talk about
18:51
real [ __ ] yeah man well it's all I I
18:53
said we were talking with
18:56
um recently we were talking with les who
19:00
was it Leslie Jones Leslie Jones but not
19:02
that's not who I was speaking of we were
19:04
talking to someone who was saying with
19:06
their process is now they we we you get
19:09
to a point I've done this a long time in
19:12
the beginning I was trying to make my
19:14
mark you know yo look what me and King
19:16
Tech are doing yall have y'all can't
19:17
hold a candle to this [ __ ] I don't care
19:19
who you compare us to nobody's ever done
19:21
what we did give me that give me this
19:24
and now it's all about how much can I
19:26
give right right no more about the game
19:29
right cuz the give is the game you know
19:31
what I mean and it's like the pressure
19:32
of like right I don't do it I'm not in
19:35
competition with nobody there you go I'm
19:37
in competition with myself I don't care
19:40
about what anybody else is doing I don't
19:42
want to be I don't want nobody else's uh
19:45
success I only want what God got from me
19:48
and that's by making me the best artist
19:50
that I could be digging deep and finding
19:53
funny with where there is no funny
19:55
what's funny in death mhm and that
19:58
that's what I love about this set is
20:00
what's funny about death the scariest
20:03
darkest thing and I got a whole hour on
20:05
it wow and for me that's the stuff I
20:08
want to talk about you know what I mean
20:09
like I and I I know my next three or
20:11
four specials once I get the story and
20:13
I'm giving story a lot of comedians they
20:15
do jokes I I got jokes with story I'm a
20:17
writer right I've been writing movies
20:19
and TV for 30 years so before I go jokes
20:23
I go what's the story I want to tell how
20:25
did you get to the point man I used to
20:27
see like when Paul Mooney used to be
20:28
signed with stepson records under a guy
20:30
named Bill Stephanie in the early 90s I
20:33
had a production deal over there we were
20:34
putting records out through bill
20:35
stephony so I when Paul Mooney would
20:37
come to the Bay I would go see him at
20:39
the punch line homie yeah homie oh look
20:44
look at the white
20:46
people that [ __ ] is crazy I used to
20:48
watch Paul Mooney as a kid me and my
20:50
brother my brother Dam used to take me
20:52
Sean Craig uh Damian and we go to The
20:56
Comedy Store we'd sneak in we was like
20:58
eight and 10 years old and we' go to The
21:00
Comedy Store and we'd watch Paul Mooney
21:02
perform and he used to he used to talk
21:05
so crazy that there'd be one lone white
21:08
person left in the room y That's so
21:10
that's what I was going to ask you Paul
21:12
Mooney would leave the crowd so [ __ ]
21:15
up yes and I and that would make me
21:17
wonder what was this funny was what was
21:19
the purpose what was was slavery funny
21:22
oh it's too real homie it's too real 400
21:27
years of it must have been a hell of a
21:29
joke on me that niggga is dark yeah but
21:33
he was one of the greatest because you
21:34
sit there and he literally don't care
21:37
about making you laugh he sit there and
21:40
he just cares about telling the truth
21:42
and that as a comedian you got to have
21:44
the balls to tell the truth and that's
21:47
and that's when you talk when you tell
21:49
me when you explaining where you are
21:51
Paul moony comes to mind not because of
21:53
the nature of the content the real right
21:55
the real and then the not need for
21:58
validation absolutely and I don't even
22:00
talk about I don't even talk about like
22:03
um pop culture no more yeah I don't care
22:06
yeah that comes and it goes I don't care
22:08
about the news that comes and it goes I
22:10
want to talk about things that's going
22:12
to be forever my experience in this
22:14
lifetime and what hurts me and what I'm
22:16
going through and how I can make that
22:18
make somebody feel good cuz guarantee
22:20
you I'm not the only one dealing with
22:22
death I'm not the only one dealing with
22:24
grief everybody in that crowd is going
22:26
to be dealing with grief I'm just giving
22:28
them a ro a blueprint on how to handle
22:31
it and keep yourself positive through it
22:34
cuz you know a lot of people can't it's
22:36
hard to deal with but laugh your way
22:37
through it me I want to give them the
22:38
Way's way we be at funerals my family
22:41
crazy we be at
22:43
funerals and we always got jokes and
22:45
people think we crying but we laughing
22:48
one of my cousins uh died and my auntie
22:51
buried him in jeans and sneakers and um
22:55
and a Yankee hat that's the joke is
22:58
being so my brother Damon leans over and
23:01
he goes you know if there's a dress code
23:03
in heaven I don't think SE he's getting
23:08
in [ __ ] up and people thought we your
23:12
look at your family over
23:15
there people thought we were crying but
23:18
we were laughing every funeral we always
23:20
got jokes man why not right the way way
23:23
man we take what's bad and what's sad
23:25
and we make you glad there it is man we
23:27
got Sean on the line from Toronto I
23:29
thought my brother was like Sean where
23:30
you at where is Sean man why a
23:35
see yeah I'm right here I just want to
23:38
say he came to
23:39
Toronto and shut the place down like I
23:46
hope he does the shock his impression of
23:49
shock is
23:51
incredible his him talking about his dad
23:55
and his mom it was incredible
23:58
thank you brother me and my wife laughed
24:00
for a week after the show beautiful D
24:04
they laugh after a week after that might
24:06
be a get Book World Record I'm In My Bag
24:09
Man we still look at each other and I
24:13
know what to say it because it seems
24:15
like that's what he's going to be doing
24:16
so I don't don't don't get don't give
24:18
him away but I know what you're GNA say
24:19
but don't give away this this guy is
24:24
he's his prime now he's full year than
24:29
ever he going to look at feet
24:31
differently and heads differently
24:35
and he I just want to say
24:38
congratulations man and keep going don't
24:42
stop thank you for sure hey Sean thank
24:44
you you a
24:45
citizen go drink some water Sean go
24:48
drink some water say that might be that
24:51
might have been his last
24:53
show I'm hype I'm hype I'm hyp okay okay
24:58
got that steam room all right has there
25:02
ever been a time Marlon where being such
25:04
a jokester being a comedian has been to
25:09
your detriment where folks didn't take
25:11
you seriously at a time where you were
25:12
meant to be taken seriously whether that
25:14
was in a business meeting or whether
25:16
that's in your love lab how do you
25:17
navigate that I don't care people can
25:20
have their point of view of you but why
25:22
am I going to succumb to their point of
25:24
view people get to know you over time
25:26
what their impression you is is just an
25:29
impression so why am I going to let that
25:31
defeat the complete human being that I
25:33
am if girls like he too silly well you
25:36
want to miss out on this big old dick
25:37
that's on you
25:40
oh yes was that wrong no that's the end
25:44
of the show thank
25:46
you Marin I you want to miss out on this
25:49
deep conversation right right right deep
25:52
de deep conversation wow that's on you
25:56
but and
26:02
what just happened Mar it's the ball of
26:04
wngs
26:05
effect that's what happened I love this
26:07
dude man give it up for Marlin Williams
26:09

26:42
it's in beautiful project we'll be back
26:44
tomorrow Lola Brook is coming tomorrow
26:46
yep Lola Brook and John B John B wow
26:50
he's still alive John B still alive yo
26:52
Marlin last time I saw Pac was with no
26:57
was with John B John B they was um he
27:01
was hanging out with John B John B was
27:02
at the how do you want it video shoot oh
27:05
and then we did this last interview with
27:07
Pac on his trailer but John B was in the
27:09
trailer with um JoJo from um um jodessy
27:13
the whole whole time but I know you have
27:14
the relationship with Pac as there some
27:16
reason I I saw Pac 20 minutes before he
27:18
got shot 20 minutes me and Omar I did
27:22
Above the Rim with pot yeah Omar did uh
27:25
juice with pot and uh
27:28
me and and Mitchell also did juice with
27:30
P he was the guy that said you got your
27:32
juice now man he hates it but yeah he's
27:35
he's a we had him on a show what you
27:38
talking about you got to do now man he's
27:40
he's the hood famous and so um I never
27:43
seen a [ __ ] get so much [ __ ] off one
27:45
line this [ __ ] had one line you got the
27:48
juice now I think that's what he did
27:50
when he bust nuts on
27:51
girl you got the juice now baby all
27:55
right so anyway I saw
27:58
P so we saw him at the um he was at the
28:01
Luxor and we was out there for the fight
28:03
and we saw hang out me him Omar cuz we
28:05
all a bunch of Performing our high
28:06
school Hood kids so you it's like [ __ ]
28:09
that grew up in the projects or whatever
28:10
grew up in the hood but we went through
28:12
these performing our high schools and so
28:14
when they did juice and I did above the
28:16
real now we all used to hang out me and
28:18
Jada was cool in California and so 20
28:21
before he got shot we saw Pac we was in
28:23
a cab and oh was like yo I'm going to go
28:25
over there and say what's up I was like
28:26
yeah right bet and then I sh Knight and
28:28
a lot of red [ __ ] I was like no I'm
28:30
good I'll be over here just give po My
28:32
Love he said come on man I said man you
28:34
dark skinned [ __ ] you Audy belly
28:36
buttons don't care about nothing you
28:38
ain't afraid of nothing and so he went
28:40
over and uh we shook his hand and we
28:42
gave him love and you know and then we
28:44
went back how was his energy in that
28:46
moment he like yo what's up it was
28:49
uncertain it was very like hey what's up
28:52
what's up he wasn't present it was like
28:54
he had worded like things on his mind MH
28:57
you know what I mean I think they had a
28:58
fight earlier he wasn't you know I mean
29:00
and I I just felt like he wasn't he was
29:03
thinking about stuff you know how you
29:04
not present you know what I mean like
29:06
you thinking about stuff and you're not
29:08
really present like you know so we shook
29:10
his hand and then we went to the cab and
29:13
he was getting in the BMW that same car
29:15
and he looked at us getting in that cab
29:18
like I know this BMW is fly but man I
29:22
really would like to be in that cab with
29:24
those safe [ __ ] and uh 20 minutes
29:27
later he got shot wow wow yeah damn man
29:30
thank you for sharing that yeah oh man
29:32
so 20 and then I saw biggie 20 minutes
29:34
before he got shot no I swear to God I
29:37
was at you was at that party yes I was
29:39
at that party and my brother Keenan we
29:41
we were I saw big we was on the escal go
29:43
yo I love your family bro y'all are
29:46
funny I keep doing what you do and he
29:49
had I remember we going down the
29:51
escalator and then we got in the car and
29:54
he got in his car and my brother Keenan
29:56
had a drop top Mercedes and we heard po
30:00
K said no go and I had my Range Rover
30:03
and he sped off with like three bad
30:05
[ __ ] in his car and my old ass Rain
30:10
Rover over a speed bump and then I went
30:14
to eat at uh Jerry's Deli yep and I got
30:17
the news that they were at Ceda Sinai
30:20
and puff and Mark Pitts who I went to
30:22
school with and Tracy Lee who went to
30:24
college with me who had uh who was on
30:26
Mark pits labeled by a storm they were
30:29
up there and uh and and and biggy died
30:33
and so you know um there's a picture
30:35
with Tupac and Biggie a famous picture
30:38
parac and Biggie at glamslam yep and if
30:41
you look to the side there's a 19yearold
30:43
Maron way sitting there twisting his
30:46
hair watching the two of them we all
30:49
hung out that night so I think my point
30:51
is um don't hang around me [ __ ] cuz 20
30:54
minutes later shot d minutes from now
31:00
stop no no thanks thanks while you were
31:03
there I was on live on air at 92.3 to
31:07
beat doing the Wake Up Show with keing
31:09
tech wow so we would headed to that
31:12
party I think it was a Vibe party
31:14
because we were coming off of air right
31:15
off right off the um aut off of
31:19
Willshire the beat was right down the
31:21
street so I was rushing to get off the
31:22
air to come to that party and then
31:25
somebody called while we were live on
31:27
the air to tell us biggie just got shot
31:30
you got to announce it I was like I'm
31:33
not announcing that I don't know if
31:35
that's true or not I didn't believe it
31:37
and then when we got off a he just
31:38
wanted to go to that party I didn't want
31:40
to go to the party D I wanted to go to
31:41
the party but I just I just could not
31:43
believe that
31:44
though believe when Pac got shot you
31:47
understand this is like the third time
31:48
he got shot I like oh he got shot'll be
31:51
all right was he what he going when he
31:53
what album he going to make off this
31:55
this time he got shot and uh we thought
31:57
he was going to live yeah we all did cuz
31:59
it was like a week yeah we felt he was
32:01
going to C pck he going to come through
32:03
yeah yeah man I'm going to stay in the
32:04
office for the next 20 minutes you know
32:06
we got security downstairs I'll join you
32:08
you know that was that was tough time
32:10
and that's why I say like all this
32:11
beefing and all this nonsense yo this it
32:14
could escalate right and we too old to
32:17
to be that dumb like and the kids like
32:19
stop with this this this it's stupidity
32:22
man life is so precious I'm so grateful
32:25
to be able to be 51 yeah right to be
32:27
able to have lived a long life my
32:31
parents would have wanted that you know
32:32
I think about his mom you know that's a
32:35
heartbreak for a mother that your son
32:37
you got to mourn your son no parent
32:39
wants to bury their child yeah you know
32:41
so I just think about all that nonsense
32:44
and it's just like let's let's just kill
32:46
that noise they they need to bring
32:47
positivity back to hip-hop I think so
32:49
too let's do I want to hear I miss that
32:51
old school headed for
32:53
self-destruction you headed for
32:56
self-destruction C away it's
33:02
whack
