Speaking at Al-Sabeen Hospital in Sanaa, on Wednesday, July 22, Houthi-run Health Ministry spokesman Anis al-Asbahi said restrictions on Sanaa International Airport have severely affected Yemen's healthcare system and humanitarian situation. Al-Asbahi said around 17 million people are facing acute hunger, while more than 3.6 million children under the age of five are suffering from acute malnutrition, including 630,000 with severe acute malnutrition that directly threatens their lives. He also said more than 20 million Yemenis lack access to basic healthcare services, citing the migration of health workers, inadequate protection and ongoing armed conflict as major factors behind the country's healthcare crisis.
