Rescue crews searched through the rubble with specially trained search dogs while heavy machinery cleared debris at the disaster site. Residents waited nearby as recovery efforts continued. National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez said 5,034 people were injured and 15,866 families were affected by the twin earthquakes, which struck Venezuela on June 24.
