VARIOUS OF DEBRIS REMOVAL WORKEL JUNQUITO, VENEZUELA - JULY 1, 2026: Search, rescue and debris removal operations continued in the El Junquito area following the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on Wednesday, July 1. Once known as a popular tourist destination for its local cuisine, horseback riding and strawberries with cream, El Junquito has seen tourism come to a complete standstill, with most businesses remaining closed as merchants fear a slow and difficult economic recovery. Volunteers continued clearing debris and recovering victims, while dozens of residents remained near the ruins of their homes, hoping to salvage their remaining belongings.
