Anadolu footage on Monday, Aug. 17, showed the newly regilded equestrian sculptures at the eastern end of Arlington Memorial Bridge near the Lincoln Memorial. The Arts of War and nearby Arts of Peace sculptures were restored under a $5.1 million project overseen by the U.S. Department of the Interior, with 23.75-karat gold leaf applied to the repaired and stabilized bronze. Created by sculptors Leo Friedlander and James Earle Fraser, the four monumental sculpture groups were gifts from Italy to the United States and were dedicated in 1951. The restoration was carried out as part of efforts by the Trump administration to beautify the U.S. capital.
