Perched on a hill overlooking the river, the fortress remains one of northern Syria’s most recognizable historical landmarks and a symbol of the region’s medieval heritage. Footage from the site showed tourists walking through the castle grounds, exploring ancient stone structures and taking photographs overlooking the Euphrates. The castle, surrounded by water and visible from long distances across the landscape, has become a popular gathering point for local visitors as temperatures rise across the region. Despite years of conflict in Syria, Jaabar Castle continues to preserve traces of the area’s historical identity along one of the Middle East’s most important rivers.
