US, Phoenix: Phoenix Thunderbird Road Fatal Pedestrian Crash.

Phoenix, United States - June 23, 2026 06/22/2026 08:51 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Officers with the Phoenix Police Department and firefighters with the Phoenix Fire Department responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 39th Avenue and Thunderbird Road around 8:50 p.m. Monday. Police and firefighters arrived and located a victim in the crosswalk on Thunderbird Road on the west side of the intersection who had been struck by a black Dodge Journey. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the victim was transported to a local area hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. Police closed Thunderbird Road in both directions between 38th Drive and 39th Lane as they investigated the traffic collision.
