Los Angeles, United States - August 18, 2026 08/18/2026 02:41 pm GMT-0700 SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A cliff rescue operation was underway near Point Fermin after a person reportedly fell or jumped, resulting in the individual’s death. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene shortly before 3 p.m. and initiated rescue efforts, including hoisting the person while rescue boats remained on standby. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is still ongoing.
