US: Hero Dog Leads Police Officer To Homeowner Unable To Get Up For Hours.

Leawood, United States - September 17, 2026 A small dog wandering alone through a dark residential street led a police officer to a homeowner who had been unable to get up for more than three hours. Leawood Police said the officer was on patrol after 1 a.m. on September 17 when he spotted the leashed dog standing in the roadway and barking at his patrol car. The officer followed the dog for about half a block to a home with the garage door open. A second leashed dog was already in the driveway, while the first dog continued toward the garage. The officer then found the homeowner on the floor and unable to get up. Medics treated the resident, who was later able to recover at home, according to police. The department released body-camera footage of the unusual encounter. The resident's name and medical condition were not disclosed.
