KAVELASHVILI LEAVING IN CARTBILISI, GEORGIA — MAY 27, 2026: Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili visited the Tbilisi Juma Mosque on Wednesday, May 27, to mark Eid al-Adha and extend greetings to the country’s Muslim community. Kavelashvili delivered a speech for the community inside the mosque. The Eid al-Adha holiday commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son at God’s command, before a ram was sent as a divine substitute at the last moment. Muslims sacrifice animals in commemoration of this intervention and share the meat with the poor and their relatives.
