Bakersfield, United States - September 07, 2026 09/06/2026 07:28 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A bicyclist was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision this evening in the 2500 block of South Union Avenue. The collision occurred around 7:28 p.m. The vehicle that struck the bicyclist fled the scene. Family or friends of the victim were seen grieving at the scene, with one lying next to the deceased victim in the roadway. Northbound South Union Avenue was blocked from White Lane to Pacheco Road while authorities investigated the collision. The Bakersfield Police Department and California Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
