VARIOUS OF FIREFIGHTERS TRYING TO EXTINGUISH FIRE WITH WATER CANONSANTALYA, TÜRKİYE - SEPT. 8, 2026: Emergency crews are battling a fast-moving wildfire that swept across the Aksu and Kepez districts of southern Antalya province, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of homes on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The blaze ignited in a densely forested zone in Aksu before strong winds drove flames into neighboring Kepez district, spreading fire across a wide perimeter. Local authorities evacuated 254 homes in Aksu as a precautionary measure, while emergency teams worked alongside local farmers to evacuate livestock and domestic animals from threatened rural properties. At least eight residents received medical treatment for fire-related conditions, including two people hospitalized with leg injuries and six others treated on an outpatient basis. Reinforcements from surrounding provincial municipalities joined the fighting response.
