The fire situation was particularly difficult in the Pelagonia region, where flames threatened several villages. Stojanche Angelov, director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, said a 20-member rapid response team was deployed to the area to support firefighting operations. One person was injured, reportedly suffering burns to the palms, and was taken to hospital. Angelov described the day as one of the most difficult of the summer for wildfire response and urged residents to exercise extreme caution. As of 7:30 a.m., authorities had recorded 40 outdoor fires across the country, with six still active, three under control and 31 extinguished, according to the Crisis Management Center.
