Footage released by Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue showed firefighters traveling in a fire truck as intense flames burned across and alongside the route ahead. The engine continued forward as flames filled the windshield and burned alongside the vehicle, with the unedited footage capturing the crew's passage through the fire. Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue said the video showed an intense moment encountered by crews during their response to the Bug Fire. The Bug Fire later merged with the nearby Fred Fire, with the two blazes burning nearly 58,000 acres by Aug. 11 and prompting evacuations across parts of Washoe County.
