DRIVER PARKING AND MAKING PHONE CALLS ZONGULDAK, TÜRKİYE - MAY 7, 2026: A 2-year-old girl who boarded a public bus by herself in northern Türkiye was reunited with her family after the driver discovered her alone inside the vehicle, local authorities said. The incident occurred in the Alapli district of Zonguldak province on Thursday, May 7, after bus driver Gunduz Cimen briefly left the vehicle to buy bread while stopped at a station. During that time, the child boarded the bus through an open door while her family was at a nearby phone shop, authorities said. After driving away, Cimen stopped the bus when he noticed sounds coming from the back of the vehicle and found the girl sitting alone in a rear seat. Bus terminal officials alerted police, and the child was later reunited with her family. Security camera footage from the bus recorded the incident.
