VARIOUS OF ONGOING REPAIR WORKS ON RASHIDI BRIDGERAQQA, SYRIA - MAY 24: Reconstruction efforts continued on the Rashidi Bridge spanning the Euphrates River in Raqqa, northern Syria. The bridge, which connects eastern and western parts of the country, was heavily damaged and became unusable following destruction caused during the withdrawal of the YPG/SDF terrorist group from areas previously under its control. Drone footage captured on Sunday, May 24, showed aerial views of the damaged structure and ongoing repair works at the site, while additional footage showed workers carrying out reconstruction activities on the bridge. In December 2024, Bashar Assad, who ruled Syria for nearly 25 years, fled to Russia, bringing an end to the Baath Party’s decades of rule that began in 1963. A transitional administration led by President Ahmad al-Sharaa was formed in January 2025.
