ISRAELI KNESSET MEMBER OFER CASSIF ADDRESSING DEMONSTRATION VIA VIDEO CONFERENCE STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - AUG. 1: Hundreds of people gathered in Stockholm on Saturday, Aug. 1, to protest Israel's attacks on Gaza and the occupied West Bank, calling for an immediate ceasefire and urging efforts to prevent what they described as attempts to undermine the ceasefire process. Demonstrators assembled at Odenplan Square before marching through the Swedish capital carrying Palestinian flags and banners reading "There is a massacre in Palestine," "There is genocide in Gaza," and "Immediate permanent ceasefire for Gaza." Israeli Knesset member Ofer Cassif joined the demonstration via video conference and criticized the Israeli government's policies toward Palestinians. During his address, Cassif referred to the writings of Israeli thinker and scientist Professor Yeshayahu Leibowitz, saying his warnings of "moral collapse" were reflected in the mass destruction, displacement and killings of Palestinians. Despite a ceasefire that took effect Oct. 10, 2025, Israel has continued daily attacks across Gaza, killing 1,209 Palestinians and injuring 3,943 others, most of them women and children, while causing widespread destruction. With US support, Israel launched a genocide in Gaza on Oct. 8, 2023, killing more than 73,000 Palestinians and injuring over 174,000, most of them women and children, while destroying about 90% of the enclave's infrastructure
