VARIOUS OF ISRAELI POLICE FORCES CONFRONTING AND DETAINING DEMONSTRATORS TEL AVIV, ISRAEL - JULY 25: Israeli police detained several protesters during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Tel Aviv on Saturday, July 25, held in protest against escalating settler attacks in the occupied West Bank. Israeli and international activists carried banners reading "Palestinian Lives Matter," "Stop the genocide in Gaza," and "Stop the ongoing Nakba from the West Bank to Gaza," while calling for an end to settler violence and peace with Palestinians. Police intervened in the demonstration and detained several participants. The protest followed Friday's attack by Israeli settlers on the town of Tell near Nablus in the occupied West Bank, in which four Palestinians were killed and four others injured, while two Israelis were also killed during the violence. Following the violence, the Israeli army imposed a siege on Nablus, Tell and surrounding villages and deployed additional reinforcements. Israeli Central Command chief Avi Bluth said the army would conduct a “wide-scale” military offensive in the West Bank, adding that extra units had been deployed and that a “major mission” awaited the forces. Earlier Saturday, Israeli forces detained more than 75 Palestinians in raids across the occupied West Bank, including more than 40 in Tell. The Israeli army issued three military orders Saturday to clear vegetation from around 69 dunams (17 acres) of land in the Nablus governorate, according to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
