VARIOUS OF ISRAELI SOLDIERS DEPLOYED IN AREA HEBRON, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - JULY 3: Dozens of Palestinians performed Friday prayers in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank on July 3 in support of land threatened with seizure by Israeli settlers. Israeli forces were heavily deployed in the area as worshippers gathered for the prayers. Palestinian activist Ibrahim Nawajeh told Anadolu that the gathering was held in solidarity with land facing the threat of seizure by Israeli settlers. He said Israeli soldiers attempted to obstruct the prayers, adding that Palestinians had gathered to demonstrate their attachment to the land and reaffirm that it belongs to the Palestinian people. Since Oct. 8, 2023, at least 1,175 Palestinians have been killed, 12,919 injured, nearly 24,000 arrested and around 33,000 displaced in the occupied West Bank during intensified Israeli military operations and attacks by Israeli occupiers, according to official Palestinian figures. Palestinian officials warn that the escalating violence is paving the way for Israel to formally annex the occupied West Bank, effectively ending the possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state in line with UN resolutions.
