SLAIN CHILD'S UNCLE WALID BADWAAN SPEAKING TO REPORTER (In Arabic)GAZA, PALESTINE - JULY 08: A Palestinian child, Abdurrahman Bedwan, died on July 8 after being critically wounded in the head by Israeli army fire east of the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, in what was described as a violation of the ceasefire. Bedwan’s funeral was held at Al-Shifa Hospital, where relatives bid him farewell in tears. His father, Rafeek Badwaan, told Anadolu that his son had returned from kindergarten, eaten a meal and been prepared by his mother before leaving home after asking permission to play with his friends. He said the child was critically wounded shortly afterward when a bullet struck him in the head. His uncle, Walid Badwaan, said Abdurrahman was playing with other children near the family’s home when Israeli soldiers opened fire. He added that children in Gaza were being deprived of even the most basic right to play safely. Since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli attacks have killed at least 1,084 Palestinians and injured 3,491 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The Israeli army has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 173,000 others since October 2023 in a genocidal war that has also caused widespread destruction affecting about 90% of civilian infrastructure.
