Last November, Jim Leobardo Sanchez filed a civil lawsuit against the former Migos rapper, accusing him of assault, battery, and the intentional infliction of emotional distress. Lawyers alleged Offset - real name Kiari Cephus - had pushed Sanchez on "his vest and then punched him with his right fist once to his left cheek" when he declined to provide I.D. during a visit to the MedMen cannabis dispensary in Los Angeles in March 2025. The following month, prosecutors at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office also filed a misdemeanour assault charge against Cephus, to which he pleaded not guilty.
