Nepal: Two Men Rescued From Nepal Tunnel After Nine Days Trapped In Darkness.

Rasuwa, Nepal - September 07, 2026 Upper Trishuli-3A hydropower tunnel – Nepali Army rescue teams push through darkness, standing water and rubble in a search for survivors following the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli floods of August 26, 2026. The footage shows a soldier using a headlamp above a mound of rubble in black water, while another soldier paddles a blue inflatable raft with a yellow oar. Elsewhere, a soldier in a neon-green helmet climbs a wet concrete and rebar wall. Inside the horseshoe-shaped tunnel, soldiers wade through standing water toward distant headlamps. An orange bag and submersible pump are visible as personnel in white and green helmets and a red life vest move through the flooded passage. On September 4, after nine days, soldiers reached mechanical foreman Sanjay Sah, 30, and mechanical supervisor Kabir Maharjan, 45, who were trapped in an air pocket. Lt Col Ganga Baral’s team heard faint “hello… hello…” replies before pulling both men out. A third worker’s body was recovered the same day. Sah said more people may have been alive farther inside, while dozens remained missing across the Rasuwa tunnels.
