Rasuwa, Nepal - September 02, 2026 Nepali Army footage shows search and rescue teams working inside the tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project after the Bhote Koshi flood. Joint teams had pushed about 200 meters into the tunnel, according to Army updates, while a Korean tunnel team worked alongside Nepali crews at the site. The flood wrecked the project’s headworks and buried parts of the tunnel under mud and rock. Hundreds of workers at Upper Trishuli-1 were listed missing or unaccounted for after the surge. Some people were pulled out alive during the first days. When the 38-second footage was posted on September 2, the search inside the blocked tunnels was still underway.
