WIDE SHOT OF SUPPORTERS UNFURLING LARGE BANNER MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - MAY 23: Mexican activists who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla arrived at Mexico City International Airport after the aid convoy was intercepted by Israeli forces in international waters. Al Muatasem Flores, Diego Vazquez and Paulina del Castillo involved in the mission returned to Mexico City on Saturday following the flotilla’s seizure near Gaza. The Global Sumud humanitarian aid flotilla said Israeli authorities had seized all 50 vessels in the convoy earlier this week. The flotilla departed from Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast in Marmaris carrying hundreds of humanitarian activists from dozens of countries in an effort to challenge the blockade imposed on Gaza. Israeli forces had previously targeted the same flotilla off the Greek island of Crete on April 29.
