Az-Zāwiyah, Libya - August 12, 2026 A drone attack targeted the main power station in Zawiya, northwestern Libya, causing a major fire and power outages across several areas, according to local sources. The state-owned General Electricity Company of Libya said the station was completely burned, while footage showed a large plume of smoke rising from the facility. Anti-aircraft guns at Camp 77 in Zawiya were reportedly activated as additional drones attempted to strike the area.
