Wayanad, India - July 07, 2026 Thirty to fifty workers are feared trapped under debris following a massive landslide caused by heavy rain on Tuesday at Kalladi, near Meppadi in Kerala's Wayanad district. According to reports, the landslide occurred near the Meenakshi Bridge in Kalladi, where work on a tunnel road project connecting Malappuram and Wayanad districts was underway. Following the incident, fire service personnel from Kalpetta have arrived at the scene, and a search operation is set to begin shortly. Officials stated that residents have rescued three people from the site, which was where workers associated with the tunnel project were staying. They noted that there are also some houses and homestays in the area. Additionally, vehicles used to transport the tunnel project's staff were damaged in the landslide
