ADEM ERSOY SPEAKING TO REPORTER (Turkish) ADANA, TÜRKİYE - JUNE 25, 2026: A 16-story Cukobirlik service building in Adana, which was heavily damaged in the Feb. 6, 2023, earthquakes, was demolished in a controlled explosion using 420 kilograms of explosives. The unused building, located on Turhan Cemal Beriker Boulevard in the Seyhan district, was found to have sustained severe structural damage following the Kahramanmaras-centered earthquakes. Police closed nearby roads and implemented security measures ahead of the demolition operation, which was carried out by a specialist team. The building, which entered service in 1980 and remained in use until 2016, collapsed within seconds after the controlled blast.
