According to Lebanese media reports, the blaze erupted for an unknown reason in a building where cables and tires were stored. MTV television reported that the fire started inside a warehouse belonging to the Telecommunications Ministry. Lebanon’s Civil Defense said eight teams were dispatched to the scene to respond to the fire in an area containing electrical cables and tires. Firefighters continued efforts to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas. Footage shared on social media showed thick black smoke rising from the area. Authorities have not yet issued a statement on the cause of the fire or whether there were any casualties.
