Berlin, Germany - July 10, 2026 Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through Berlin on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the third anniversary of the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attack on Israel that triggered the war in Gaza. Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was among those attending the demonstration, which began at Oranienplatz and moved through the Kreuzberg district. Police counted as many as 850 participants at the protest's peak. Officers repeatedly intervened during the march, with police reporting violations of demonstration restrictions, the display of prohibited symbols, including Hamas symbols, and attacks on officers. Police later terminated the procession on Kottbusser Damm before it reached its planned destination at Hermannplatz. A police spokesman said around 30 people were temporarily detained and at least five police officers were injured.
