【Stand_up】 Xu Hua, Reporter: "I’m here at the newly-opened Huanggang Port on the Shenzhen side. We can see the first batch of travelers are already crossing over." 【Sound_bite】 Passenger: "I work in Hong Kong and live in Shenzhen. After a night shift, I saw the new Huanggang Port opened this morning and rushed to try it. Very smooth and convenient, it'll cut my commute time a lot." 【Sound_bite】 Passenger: "It's nice and big. Yeah, it's very convenient, because I'm only using my ID. Only one ID I can use it. It's so big. It's like an airport." 【Voice_over】 The redeveloped Huanggang Port is the only large land port between Shenzhen and Hong Kong with a 24-hour passenger and vehicle clearance services. As cross-border traffic grew, the port began reconstruction in 2019. So, what’s new? 【Sound_bite】 Xue Huaming, Division Director, Office of Port of Entry and Exit, Shenzhen Municipal People's Government: "The entire port uses a stacked design. Four underground floors house parking, public transport, and other support facilities, while the third and fifth floors serve as vehicle and passenger inspection areas. This fully utilizes our limited and valuable land space." 【Stand_up】 Xu Hua, Reporter: "The newly opened port is designed to handle about 200,000 passengers a day, with daily peak capacity expected to reach 300,000. So, what new measures have been introduced?" 【Sound_bite】 Yang Ziheng, Huanggang Immigration Inspection Station, Shenzhen General Station of Immigration Inspection: "The new Huanggang Port uses joint inspection and one-time release. At Gate 1, travelers scan their ID or face. After fingerprint and facial verification, Gate 2 opens. Gate 3 completes inbound identity verification. This one-location, two-inspection model, cuts clearance time from 30 minutes to 5 minutes." 【Voice_over】 And with Shenzhen hosting the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in November, the port is getting a full international-service upgrade—multilingual staff, translation devices and a one-stop service center. This port is not only transforming cross-border travel time but also how Shenzhen and Hong Kong connect, and how the Greater Bay Area opens to the world. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
