Syracuse head coach Fran Brown joins D.A. for an powerful one-on-one interview inside the Orange's new football facility just hours after Summer Slam Cuse. In one of his most candid conversations yet, Brown explains the biggest changes inside the program, what really led to his offseason coaching shakeup, and why Syracuse is building a new culture heading into 2026.
In this interview, Fran discusses:
🏈 Why he overhauled his coaching staff and what he meant by "agendas" inside the program.
🏈 The powerful story of Mr. Joseph, the lifelong Syracuse fan Brown personally drove home after Summer Slam Cuse—and why fans like him matter far more than preseason win projections.
🏈 The origin of his "Winners Get Washed" mentality and why the heartbreaking Boston College loss still fuels him today.
🏈 The life lessons his Uncle Charles taught him that continue to shape his coaching philosophy.
🏈 Why Syracuse football alumni are welcomed back into the building—and how former Orange stars are actively mentoring today's players in position meetings.
🏈 Why oddsmakers predicting four or five wins don't influence him—and what does.
If you're a Syracuse fan, this is one of the deepest conversations you'll hear with Fran Brown about where the program has been, where it's headed, and why he believes the Orange's best days are still ahead.

I care about what he think though. Like
0:02
he mean a lot. He was at my first press
0:04
conference. I remember being here seeing
0:06
him. He flew out, saved up money to be
0:09
at the Clemson game and told me he cried
0:11
up at that meant to actual.
0:16
Well, personally as Syracuse alum, I'm
0:19
super excited about our next guest and
0:21
about this football season because I
0:23
believe that the trajectory of this
0:25
program is really, really steep and
0:28
really high. We had an amazing event
0:30
last night in Summerslam over in Skinny
0:32
Atlas. Joining me here on the show is
0:34
Fran Brown. Coach, how you doing, man?
0:36
I'm good. How about you? I'm doing
0:38
great.
0:38
>> Coach, I got to apologize. Last last
0:41
night when I saw you for the first time
0:42
and introduced myself. I said, "Yeah,
0:44
I'm Damon Amendor, DA, and it was a
0:47
little bit too loud. There's a lot of
0:48
people around us." So, it was the big
0:50
event. And you thought I was from the
0:51
district attorney's office that wanted
0:53
to interview.
0:53
>> Yeah. He said, "We're going to come talk
0:54
to you tomorrow, man. With DA." I'm
0:56
like, "DA?" He's like, "You've been the
0:58
athletic director there." I'm like,
1:00
"What you want to talk to me for?"
1:02
[laughter]
1:03
I like talking to DA. I said, "You
1:04
talking to AD right there?" You like,
1:06
"No, that's my
1:08
NCAA was sneaking around here."
1:10
>> I said, "Nah, I'm good. Y'all ain't
1:12
talking to me." [laughter]
1:14
>> You were like, "I got out of Cam, didn't
1:17
I? I ain't got nothing to do with
1:18
nothing, nor do I know anything." Right.
1:22
>> Yeah. Summer was cool. It was really
1:24
cool. like activation of energy of
1:27
momentum of enthusiasm from you know
1:30
donors from alumni from sports fans from
1:35
the university in general I'm like man
1:37
that kind of all came together perfectly
1:39
>> yeah Melo did the best of all he's like
1:42
an alum donor panda [laughter]
1:45
he checks like grievas and he say I
1:48
thought he did an amazing job
1:50
um they did a really good job and so I
1:52
was like uh really it's just impressed I
1:54
said it was like, okay, it gave me a uh
1:59
a sense of ownership to start the year
2:01
off right cuz you understand know what
2:04
our community with the along fan base.
2:07
You just know what everybody needs. You
2:09
know what what they expect and and what
2:11
we expect. Let's get it back to what it
2:14
was. I wrote a story and did a video
2:17
about how I got even a next level of
2:21
respect for you for what you talked
2:23
about at AC Media Days and that was
2:26
making changes on your coaching staff
2:29
before it got even worse. And I thought
2:32
this is a real accountability because
2:34
some coaches would use the injury of
2:36
Steve Angeli and say, "Well, we lost our
2:38
starting quarterback. We're going to
2:39
bring everything back. Good recruiting
2:41
class. We got the right guys here." And
2:43
you did not. You said we have to be
2:46
accountable. There was stuff that was
2:48
going on that was unacceptable. And I
2:50
thought back to your the way you grew up
2:52
and that was single mom in a tough
2:56
neighborhood in Camden. Is that built on
2:59
the mentality of if something's not
3:01
right, you got to change it immediately.
3:02
Time is of the essence. You cannot wait
3:04
around to to kind of wait and see. Did
3:07
that inform you making tough decisions
3:09
on your coaching staff last year and in
3:11
the offseason?
3:12
>> It played a major part. It also um it
3:15
major parts of what I owe to these
3:17
players, what you owe to this
3:19
university. It's about the block ass.
3:20
There was Syracuse football before me,
3:22
there'll be Syracuse football after. 10
3:24
years later, there'll be circus football
3:26
after. Right. And um you need to leave
3:29
it better than you found it.
3:32
But you have to be able to make sure you
3:33
can stand on someone. When adversely
3:35
hits, you got to face it head on.
3:36
There's so many young men watching and
3:38
look and understand it. and they know
3:41
and we know everybody that was and knows
3:43
in this room with us that was in that
3:45
locker room that was around it. We all
3:47
understand and know what the issues were
3:49
and I would have been a fraud to
3:51
overlook issues. I would have been a
3:53
fraud to say, "Well, our quarterback got
3:55
hurt," which most people do, and you
3:57
could leap on with that and use that.
3:59
But then it would have reappeared again.
4:01
And then what would I have said there?
4:03
And I think the best way, you know, my
4:05
son's on the team, my wife, my children
4:07
are watching me. There's a little kid
4:09
out there who wants to be who I am. And
4:12
I have to do it the right way. You know,
4:14
I pray on it. I lock in on it. I made a
4:17
promise to Chancellor, first Chancellor
4:19
Civeroo. I also made a promise to
4:21
Chancellor Hayden. and our athletic
4:22
director that I would do everything I
4:24
can to make this a powerhouse program. I
4:27
also said that to the community that I
4:29
would do everything I can through this
4:30
game of football through a fellowship
4:32
that we'll all have together in our
4:34
community to help this community be one
4:36
of the best in the world and when the
4:38
football program is out when we're doing
4:40
well, basketball is doing well, lacrosse
4:42
is doing well and you can keep recycling
4:45
it year after year after year on
4:47
recycling. Man, I think that it um
4:50
the community is just better. You know,
4:52
I don't know the statistics, but I could
4:54
guarantee you that as we're winning,
4:57
crime isn't as hot. Things aren't going
5:00
on the same like everybody's happy.
5:02
Everybody's ch going the same direction.
5:04
Like um I had a picture of my phone and
5:06
I to the uh
5:09
Nick's last one and I took a picture of
5:11
it and I sent it to the champion level
5:14
and I was like, why not, you know? So,
5:17
right. That's the reason that you have
5:19
to do that.
5:19
>> I am ready for the season. Look at that
5:21
McNab poster behind me. Make sure you're
5:23
subscribed to the channel. I've got
5:25
postgame Syracuse football recap videos
5:28
every single week. Make sure you click
5:29
on this button below me.
5:31
>> Well, you spoke about agendas. Agendas
5:33
in your coaching st in your your walls.
5:36
What types of agendas happen like that
5:38
that forces change? Oh, to me being
5:41
young and not truly understanding. Um,
5:44
sometimes guys go for interviews
5:47
and then when you keep them there,
5:48
everyone's not mentally tough enough to
5:50
go for an interview, not get the job,
5:51
but then still be able to refocus and
5:53
stay there. And I understand why some
5:55
people say you could go on an interview,
5:57
but you better get the job because like
6:00
you already were going. You decided to
6:02
go try something else. Now whether it's
6:04
I want to go try to be a head coach,
6:05
whether I want to go try to do this, but
6:07
when you try to go get another job and
6:09
then that doesn't work, what does that
6:12
say for the kids and for everyone else
6:14
that spirit that this is home that I
6:17
love this, right? So much pops going out
6:20
and you've been messing with that lady,
6:21
but he says,
6:24
you know what I'm saying? So it's kind
6:25
of I I learned that afterwards though.
6:28
We learned all those things afterwards,
6:30
right? And I'm h I'm sad that our fan
6:32
base and our university and our homes,
6:35
everyone had to suffer from, you know,
6:36
my inexperience and the coaching
6:39
thoroughly on to be able to make some of
6:41
those moves a year ahead of time. But
6:43
it's still all part of growing growing
6:44
the true program.
6:46
>> Um being able to understand and know
6:48
that if I'm good at recruiting, make
6:50
sure you do the recruiting. Have your
6:52
input on every single kid that comes in.
6:54
Make sure that you feel comfortable in
6:56
your stomach knowing that this kid is
6:58
going to represent us, right? This kid's
7:00
going to be in a locker room speaking
7:02
highly when we're not there. The
7:03
integrity I felt took a small dip last
7:07
year. And when that integrity takes a
7:10
dip, the character, right? And then the
7:13
play is like we're not going to be as
7:15
focused, right? They're only going to
7:16
complain about everything, everything,
7:17
everything. And now the champion level
7:19
on the boot that I had, um, we locked
7:23
doors. Our goal is to go win a national
7:25
championship, but everybody's locked.
7:27
And there's only one way we're going to
7:29
do it. It's going to be difficult. It's
7:30
going to be hard. We say we play to
7:32
glorify the man above. That's hard. You
7:35
know what I mean? Like we were born also
7:36
like we all want. So that's our um but
7:39
why not try to do something different
7:41
than what everyone else is doing. And
7:42
like why not play and have like we want
7:46
to play the gore Friday man above. We
7:48
want to play for the main next to us. We
7:50
truly want to do that. We're not trying
7:51
to play for a bear. We don't want to
7:54
play for this big chamber, right? We
7:55
don't want to play just because I'm
7:57
going to get paid cuz when we win, we
7:59
are going to get paid anyway.
8:00
>> So that's already in the cause order. So
8:03
like let's go play the glorified hell.
8:05
Let's just keep pushing. Now along the
8:06
way, we're going to pray for all the
8:08
things that we want personally in our
8:10
life. And it's okay to do that as long
8:12
as when we get them, we're going to
8:14
continue to glorify where it came from
8:16
and why it came that way.
8:17
>> And besides my Lord and Savior, this
8:20
black ass has been loyal to whoever's
8:22
been loyal to it. You go to class here
8:25
at this school, you be focused, you lock
8:26
in, you're going to get an amazing
8:28
degree that you can reuse later than
8:30
life, right? You come here, you work
8:33
extremely hard on the football field,
8:34
the basketball court, lacrosse field,
8:36
wherever it may be. It pays off
8:39
afterwards.
8:40
The network is unmatchable, right? The
8:45
network is unmatchable. I meet so many
8:47
people that I would like, dang, right? I
8:49
can meet him like that's great. Like
8:50
GMAC is cool. I remember watching them
8:52
playing and ball me at another school or
8:54
sitting at le
8:57
cool give a chance to talk to those guys
8:58
the white ferny keep the mcnad you know
9:02
make rico I mean the list goes on David
9:05
folk I mean there's so many guys that if
9:07
you truly want to go succeed in life
9:10
come here do it the right way and the
9:12
network is already there for you all you
9:14
got to do is come work really really
9:16
hard keep the head down and you'll be a
9:18
success
9:19
>> so you talk about loyalty that is of
9:22
your DNA.
9:23
>> Yeah.
9:23
>> And yet today's college sports landscape
9:27
was so not about wealth. And once upon a
9:30
time, man, you built a bond with a
9:31
coach. We were hearing Melo and Gac talk
9:34
about this with Beheim last night. And
9:35
today it's so different because of the
9:37
transactional nature of NIL. So how do
9:40
you balance that part of your internal
9:43
DNA with the way the landscape is?
9:46
>> Truth and consistency.
9:48
Just have to do that all the time. truth
9:50
and consistency. I do the same way.
9:52
Like, listen, we understand and know
9:53
that there's money in it. Hey, you come
9:55
to play for me. This is what I'll do.
9:57
Right. Um, they're gonna pay this. Hey,
9:58
we may be able to give you, we may be
10:00
$100,000. Sure. But for the truth and
10:03
for someone to be consistent and for
10:05
someone to truly love you the way you
10:07
want to be loved and the way you need to
10:08
be loved, couldn't be tough love when
10:11
that's needed. I think that'd work 100
10:13
grand. Sure, it's worth it right now in
10:16
this day and age when it's not there and
10:18
where it can be consistent that way and
10:20
you still going to get a chance to go to
10:21
the Marfield. You'll still get a chance
10:23
to go to the NBA. You still get a chance
10:25
to go be like the calls to be as good as
10:27
you possibly can be, right? Um so why
10:30
not why not be here, right? Why not to
10:32
be with us when everyone's on the same
10:34
page? Everything we got a good athletic
10:36
record that came who's speaking the same
10:38
language that we speak. So like all
10:41
across the board from the chancellor all
10:42
the way down everyone's on the same
10:44
page. A lot of people say that and I've
10:47
seen it where it's like it's just talk
10:50
now. It's oh no that's who they are.
10:53
This is how they go. This is how they
10:54
live. This is where they are lost. So
10:56
it's it's really refreshing and it's
10:58
cool to see this right now. What's
10:59
happening there?
11:01
I read about Uncle Charles. Yeah. Uncle
11:06
Char. And I thought, man, that's a
11:08
powerful story.
11:10
That's an important thing that happened
11:12
to the young person's life. For those
11:13
that don't know, that was a B figure to
11:15
you, cuz we've been have one in the
11:16
household growing up. And he had an
11:19
really important message that kind of
11:20
changed things for you. Can you explain
11:24
why Uncle Charlie were so special and
11:28
what part of that you bring to the job?
11:31
It was special cuz he was able to be
11:33
with everybody that was supposed to be
11:35
cool whether they was doing the right
11:36
thing outside or wasn't that might have
11:38
been looked upon as wow that guy isn't
11:41
guy selling drugs. It might have been a
11:43
guy that was known as a killer before
11:46
this guy could fight and do all that. Um
11:49
he was able to be around those guys but
11:52
not be one of those guys, right? He was
11:54
able to teach me all those things of how
11:56
to be funny with somebody,
11:59
>> but you don't have to be her, right? Um,
12:02
and he always gave everybody respect.
12:04
What's up there guy? How you doing the
12:05
guy? How you doing this? And made
12:07
everyone feel like they were the most
12:10
important piece. No, I I took on that
12:12
and that meant a lot to me to see how he
12:15
done that and how he navigated through a
12:17
dangerous city at a time where he's a
12:19
police officer and had so many corporate
12:21
cops, but he didn't partake in any of
12:24
that, you know, was able to stay himself
12:26
and was able to be respected by some of
12:28
the most dangerous men in the city, very
12:31
in state, country, very um so that meant
12:35
a lot to me. And then he just was there,
12:37
right? He showed me a lot of scut,
12:39
right? And uh everything wasn't always
12:41
perfect, but it was his way. It was
12:42
always like the tough way of being able
12:44
to do it. So, he taught me that
12:45
toughness, how to go, how you going to
12:47
do this? This is what you want, right?
12:49
Um and it is main means the world to me.
12:51
You know, still to this day, he's a
12:53
father figure. You know, I go, he got
12:55
his own son. So, as I got older, I could
12:57
see where I suffer his own kids like,
13:01
"No, my guy with y'all." So, I kind of,
13:03
you know, fought back a little bit as
13:05
being bolder. I could have like, "Wow. I
13:08
see why that could have been an issue
13:09
with you guys a little bit sometimes.
13:11
Ain't that is your daddy? Your dad was
13:13
turning up all of us too. So I kind of
13:16
fell back from it. But uh I love mom for
13:19
child. Write him in the world. He's a
13:22
good dude, man. It's a he's everything.
13:24
He taught me how to play football and
13:26
sign me up for football. I took criminal
13:28
justice because he was a cop
13:30
>> and then living in the city. So that's
13:31
why that ended up being my major and
13:33
being able to get two degrees of
13:34
criminal justice. He plays a major
13:37
partner.
13:38
>> Vegas has your win total at 4 and a
13:41
half, which I think is criminally low.
13:45
How do you feel about what I perceive as
13:48
a disrespect by the program or at least
13:51
lacker expectations for the program
13:53
going into the season? Does it make you
13:54
mad?
13:55
>> Ah, really? I don't care. They don't go.
13:58
they don't say what they want to say and
14:02
I don't feel that I've done enough to
14:05
even have an opinion about that to where
14:07
I could speak to other people. Um, I
14:09
just talk to our team and when I really
14:11
talk about Vegas, we just talk about
14:13
Syracuse. We talk about our community.
14:16
Last night after the slam dunk piece,
14:18
there's a guy named Mr. Joseph who's
14:19
always around. He's a long time.
14:23
Um, 76 years old. He got to watch Jim
14:25
Brown play. He he was about to catch a
14:27
bus back from skinny. Just how much he
14:29
loves it here. When I seen him, I told
14:32
him, "Hop in the car. Hey, hop in. We'll
14:33
leave man. We'll drive you back." Just
14:35
talking to me about all the past coaches
14:38
and the past players and how he thinks
14:41
that we can win and how he believes in
14:43
me and how this means a lot to him. And
14:47
um he saw one national championship and
14:51
he feels in his heart that he going to
14:52
see two before he leave this earth. So I
14:55
really care about what he think and be
14:58
honest with you. Like he's seen every
15:00
coach, he's seen coach Schwarz, he's
15:02
seen coach Matt, coach Patone, all the
15:04
other guys after him. Um and I was
15:07
asking him, "Hey, what made coach Matt
15:08
good?" And he would tell me things and
15:10
just say stuff. What made this guy good?
15:12
Why was this guy a good running back?
15:14
Why was Don Leet good? Um and he just
15:17
had everything. It's like this like how
15:19
he say that. It was like um I care about
15:22
what he think though. like he mean a
15:25
lot.
15:26
>> He was at my first press conference. I
15:27
remember being here seeing him. Um he
15:31
flew out, saved up money to be at the
15:33
Clemson game and told me he cried up at
15:35
that meant a lot to him. Wow. So like
15:40
beggars got to do what they do. It's
15:42
powerful. Well, Mr. Joseph,
15:45
76 years old, been here his whole life.
15:48
His wife passed away 2013.
15:51
his new wife's husband passed away 2013.
15:54
They both Syracuse dieh hard fans. They
15:57
ended up marrying each other. Like I
16:00
think that's what we've already began
16:01
for.
16:02
>> Well, that weaves into something that I
16:05
really applaud from you and that is
16:07
embracing the football alumni. When I
16:10
went to school here, it was McNab and
16:12
Freeny and Will Allen and Bullock and
16:16
Warland Greenwood and they were legit
16:18
studs. dominated the Big East, went to
16:21
Fiesta Bowls and Orange Bowls and went
16:23
to the NFL. Kevin Johnson and I saw
16:26
that, you know, these guys are talking
16:27
about, man, we are excited again because
16:29
Fran has allowed us to be part of this
16:32
family. That's who you are bringing
16:34
people together that's kind of within
16:36
you. But why is that so powerful to
16:38
young guys in the locker room?
16:41
Now outside of them playing in the NFL
16:43
and being great players when they were
16:44
here they were. They're all successful
16:48
like don't talk in life.
16:52
>> He might get mad at it for Sanders but
16:53
keep golock generating money from five
16:55
different sp right. Um Don McNav is
16:59
McNav. He's the man. Right. He coach a
17:00
high school being there with his kid but
17:02
he has so much stuff going on. The white
17:04
frame comes back and helps. He's on a
17:06
stab. So he's scared with us two weeks
17:08
of him around us. Um Kevin Johnson's
17:11
always coming out speaking to recruit
17:13
Trinity. They're doing things just being
17:15
around coming to speak. Um but they all
17:18
successful. So when our players see all
17:21
of these guys that went here love it.
17:23
They coming back. But they successful
17:26
outside of football. Damn, I'm going to
17:28
be successful. So now I just go give it
17:30
everything I got. And then I like that
17:32
when I used to when I grew up I was like
17:34
Miami, right? They will always have all
17:36
of them coming back working out. All
17:38
them coming back being around. Oh, I got
17:40
I need dudes. We talking about they
17:41
ain't working out that much no more,
17:43
right? But uh just to have them back,
17:46
right? Just to be able to see that like
17:48
uh McFerson, right? Very good
17:50
quarterback Donnie McFerson and all
17:52
those guys constantly always just
17:53
popping up on them and seeing the guys
17:55
and being around. Um to me like that's
17:59
how this is built like the tradition
18:01
that yo this what we did. This what we
18:03
was doing we was here. Okay, now that's
18:05
what we gonna do when we here now. Okay,
18:07
that's what they did. And y'all did
18:08
captain's practice kind of bet. Okay, we
18:11
gonna start doing the same thing that
18:12
they had. They would barbecue
18:13
afterwards. They would do this. You just
18:15
take all those traditions and now we
18:16
keep them going. So now when they do
18:18
come back, they like, "Yeah, I like
18:20
what's going on. That's how we're
18:21
supposed to be. That's how it was when
18:22
we was there. That's what we started."
18:24
And those guys were keeping it going on,
18:26
right? I think that um it makes it
18:28
great. Makes it a family and they know
18:31
they can come whenever they want. All
18:33
they got to do is call your friend. I'm
18:34
about to be outside. Cool. Pull up. This
18:36
is what we doing. Just get in the mix.
18:38
Cuz when they come, this isn't like a
18:40
come but we can't go to that. Hey yo,
18:42
you always Hey Kev, go to the wide out
18:44
me.
18:46
They in the linebackers in there. That's
18:47
what they do with them. Dwight the D
18:49
line over there. Let's get the D McNabby
18:51
running to this spot. Whoever comes,
18:52
whatever you play, go to your meeting,
18:54
right? Like you on the team. You're just
18:56
not playing no more. But this is yours
18:58
forever as long as I'm there. So
19:00
whenever they pop up, hey yo, go to the
19:02
home. Hey, go to this, go to that. You
19:04
know what I mean? So, like that's
19:05
important, especially if you've done it
19:06
the right way. I had a guy that didn't
19:08
do it the right way and try to just be
19:10
at practice and it's like, hey, um, it's
19:12
not fair to the kids that they see here.
19:15
I'm going to make sure he get a job, but
19:17
he can't be around every day because
19:19
when we were here, we're bad seat. They
19:21
say one drop of poison that guy in the
19:24
water. One little drop, that whole
19:26
bottle is low. Done. You just got to
19:30
make sure you watch who's around.
19:34
>> That's good. That's a great metaphor. I
19:36
want to wrap up on this. Winners get
19:37
washed. It has now become part of your
19:40
your aura. So, give me give me the
19:43
moment that you lost a game and you were
19:45
stinkiest, smelliest, and you wish you
19:47
could take a shower, but you got to go
19:48
to bed because you know what? Losers
19:50
don't get to shower. On the weekends,
19:52
and a lot of people adjust to this as a
19:54
little kid playing League football, I
19:56
wore my uniform. Saturday and I kept it
20:00
on after the game. I probably had it on
20:01
all the Sunday, Monday morning, I was
20:03
getting up to get in the shower just as
20:04
a kid, right? Yeah. As you get older,
20:06
you can't do that anymore. But, um, as a
20:08
grownup, like we play, we lose a game.
20:12
I love winning. I hate losing. I hate
20:16
the feeling of losing. Like, I hate
20:18
everything. Like, I think I hate losing
20:21
way more than I love winning. Like, I
20:24
just hate losing. I'll have 60 ties and
20:27
others be wins and like no losses. Like
20:30
I I hate losing. So it's like we lost to
20:33
BC. It was just like man I just went in
20:36
the locker room and I was just sitting
20:37
there like thinking like how
20:41
you sitting there thinking everybody
20:42
else went like I ain't getting a shot.
20:44
I'm good. Ain't about to do what I got.
20:46
I'm good. I'm go talk to the media. We
20:47
talk to no I'm just getting on the bus
20:49
and what I coach. Then we get back off
20:51
the plane. I got to the crib. I just sat
20:54
on the couch and I start watching the
20:55
game. So what we did wrong
20:58
was you get up the next morning. I just
21:01
brush my teeth. I'm out and I finally
21:04
get washed when I come here. But it's
21:06
like
21:07
like yo like think just like yo what the
21:10
freak? Like you just sad like I'm crying
21:12
like you back and forth like I don't I
21:14
don't know how other people are with
21:15
losing but it like mean a lot. Like
21:18
losing sometimes is like a death. Like
21:21
it's like the it's like a death in a
21:24
family almost. Like I I get everything I
21:26
have that week to that. Everything you
21:29
got, right? Like out of 168 hours in a
21:31
week, I'm spending
21:34
80 plus barely sleeping. I might get 35
21:38
sleep in a whole week, 35 hours sleeper,
21:40
maybe three hours to eat. But the rest
21:43
of this, this is this is given to the
21:46
game, right? is given to this game of
21:48
football which has done so much for me
21:50
so I have to make sure I do everything I
21:52
possibly can and um
21:56
losing sucks like it's like who likes to
21:59
lose so I was just like yo I get winners
22:02
get washed man you go get go feel great
22:05
you go when have you ever I can't wait
22:08
to go to this meal we just won and we
22:09
get in the shower and go out to eat with
22:11
everybody after you lose you ever want
22:13
to do that
22:14
>> no you know what I'm saying it's Like
22:17
it's it's it's food competitive people
22:19
are.
22:20
>> I was just dumb enough to say it out
22:22
loud. [laughter] You know what I'm
22:24
saying? It's every clip that is my dumb
22:27
self just said it. It's like they always
22:29
like, "Oh, I feel him on that." But I
22:32
ain't saying but I keep saying it
22:34
though. I mess with somebody. I said,
22:36
"How many times you went to the club and
22:38
was in there sweating and dancing and
22:39
went home, didn't hop in the shower?"
22:41
They like, "Yeah, a lot. Who dirt you?"
22:43
Cuz I didn't play. I didn't play, right?
22:47
But you went home with her and she ain't
22:49
getting in the shower and all of a
22:50
sudden you dealing with shorty and she
22:52
was in that white like you play bull
22:55
hospital. So [laughter]
22:58
>> that's fantastic. Well, I can't wait for
23:01
this season, man. I feel bad we took 20
23:02
minutes and that could have been sleep
23:04
for you this week. But you know what?
23:05
Hey, we got to give to the game.
23:06
>> It was worth it. Anything for a loss.
23:08
>> This is your school. This means a lot.
23:10
You got to open them right here with us
23:12
all. So, so appreciate you. We're going
23:13
to have a lot of fun this year. Me and
23:15
GMAT talked about we got to go four
23:18
times back to back to back to back to
23:20
back. So we got to win football or they
23:21
going to win basketball. We got to win
23:23
football. They going to win basketball.
23:24
Football basketball. Football
23:26
basketball. It's a dynasty. We ain't
23:28
trying to hear nothing. I love that
23:30
attitude. Syracuse fans could be excited
23:32
about this upcoming football season.
23:34
Fran Brown's a big part of it. Thanks
23:35
