How to cook Chinese Pork Asado. Binondo Chinatown Pork Asado, known in other countries as Char Siu, Chinese Pork Barbecue or Chinese Roast Pork. This homemade recipe makes use of substitute ingredients such as skinless pork belly/liempo instead of pork shoulder, achuete/annatto seeds and paprika for food color in lieu of red food color/fermented red bean curd. We try to make it as authentic as possible by using a smoker/roaster/griller to cook the meat. It takes about 3 hours 30 minutes to roast the meat this way. Alternatively, the meat can be oven baked for 45 minutes at 350f. Additional 15 mins to baste with sauce and bake again for a total of 1 hour.
